Are you going to continue this next year, with the same points or will you start from scratch and everyone is back to 0? I love this and hope it continues.

I'm thinking of doing the thing that FIFA does where they carry over a percentage of points earned in the previous years and add that to the current score. So the starting scores for everyone scored in 2016 will be 50% of the sum of their 2016 match and appearance points, instead of just zero. They'll get a new 500 when they have their first match of 2017.

Updated for SmackDown and 205 Live. With his win tonight, Dean Ambrose gets a very important 10 points, which takes him to a 26.94 point lead over Roman Reigns with one week of TV to go. It all comes down to the last RAW of the year next week. If Reigns doesn't get a big points haul that night, like a successful main event title defense, the year-end #1 ranking will go to Ambrose.

*Curtis Axel takes a 10 point penalty for five straight TV losses. He has won only ONE of his last 40 TV matches dating back to February.

So, with only one week of this left to go, and as such the calendar year, this will be the first time I've managed to commit to this project for a full year.
With the rankings pretty well-settled, does it accurately reflect WWE's booking across the full year? I know there are quite a few noticeable outliers (Zack Ryder being very high up, for example) that could lead to questioning... Are some things weighted too low or too much? How should these carry over to the new year?
But yeah, thanks to you guys for the support while I've been doing these, trying to make the wins and losses matter at a time when WWE can change their minds on it at a drop of a hat.

Updated for RAW.
Ambrose holding on to that lead for grim death, but he might just hang on and take that year-end #1.

Didn't Strowman win by DQ?

Didn't Strowman win by DQ? I thought so too, but WWE.com listed it as a No Contest.

I'm thinking you should put just their 2017 points in parenthesis beside their "running total" from the year before, so if people want to know just what somebody's 2017 score is, it's there.

Didn't Strowman win by DQ? I thought so too, but WWE.com listed it as a No Contest. That's strange. I usually go by WWE.com, but to me that was a DQ. I re-watched it and the bell rang after Sami attacked Braun, so that's what I went with for my records. But, it's the last week, so what's the difference if Strowman has a win or a draw.

Wow, just noticed this thread and it amazes me because you put way more work into the show than WWE does. lol
How do you deal with situations such as Bayley? According to Charlotte, her loss last week was erased due to the dusty finish..
So according to your data, Sami Zayn should be the #1 Contender for the Universal title. Furthermore, Naomi should be in line for a shot at the Smackdown Women's title.
Very well done. I really wish WWE would incorporate this sort of list so every match has meaning.

Updated for SmackDown and 205 Live:
*By virtue of not being booked on SmackDown this week (thus not putting any points at stake), as well as neither him or Reigns being in matches taped for either NXT or Main Event this week, Dean Ambrose will end 2016 as the #1 ranked male wrestler. Charlotte Flair has been unheaded at the top of the women's rankings for pretty much the entire year *Heath Slater and Rhyno each take the 10 point penalty for five straight TV losses

According to Charlotte, her loss last week was erased due to the dusty finish.. I put work into tracking the results. I don't think I could be anywhere near as creative as they are, and that's really saying how bad I'd be at it. Anyway, to answer your question... WWE don't really have the attention to detail to retroactively change their results to reflect that, so it usually just gets handwaved away unless that process happens on the same night like the famous Jericho world title win fakeout in 2000. So I"m just going to leave it as is.

Cool stats, but you have Main Event wrong. Dorado defeated Nese, not the other way around.

Yes, unless real-life commitments necessitate otherwise. Thank you. It's a nice cheat sheet, often but not always, for which superstars matter in WWE. Like that stupid Titus winning streak before he set fire to his modest success. I think the 2017 score should be included separately in case some fortunes change.
