I guess I'd liken it to being an ice hockey player somewhere like Finland or Sweden where you are rich and famous nationally and then you get an offer from the NHL where it would be tougher and you'd be less of a stand out but there's chances of a worldwide famous legacy down the road.

I've been watching wrestling for 20 years and I'd never heard of her. Why? Because I only watch WWE. I don't imagine I'm alone in that, and if you're a wrestler being part of the biggest company in the world is surely a life goal? Imagine Asuka at Wrestlemania. Who wouldn't want that?

Also, it's been shown that your level of happiness does not go up with more money. You tend to peak at between 75-85,000 dollars annually. She may have got a contract that made her comfortable and is now working on job satisfaction. People have to get over this idea that the only way to be judged a success in any field is the amount of money you make. Does that factor in cost of living? I would imagine 75,000 in Bumblef***- population 10,000 is different than 75,000 in San Francisco or New York City. It was an average based on respondents from all over the lower 48 so it would be higher in NY or SF but they found surprisingly that it wasn't much of a difference.

Bucket list goal. Asuka was planning to call it quits career wise in a few years due to her getting bored with the Joshi scene. WWE asked if she wanted to join up and like a lot of wrestlers worldwide, it is a dream goal to go to WWE. So she made the move. And I'm sure girls like Makoto and Syuri are hoping and praying Asuka does well enough to get them in too. (Namely Makoto)

I don't think it's our place as fans to ask why someone does something.

I'd much rather Io Shirai, KairiHojo, Hikaru Shida , or Arisa Nakjima get signed than those two.

Which would still mean bringing in Io, lol.
