I posted this in the Big E thread that, while I would love it, the inevitable fallout is they would eventually have the other two members of New Day turn on whoever wins. Like I'm not even going to say it might happen, based on creative's track record, that is an absolute certainty.

I would be totally cool with him winning it and New Day defending it under the freebird rule.

Kofi would be the perfect victor this year, especially if New Day isn't broken up in the process per: WWE hack booking. New Day have the perfect gimmick for one of their own coming from nowhere in a build to Wrestlemania, and a Reigns/Kofi showdown at Mania would then build hype for the (probably inevitable) Reunited Shield vs. New Day match that WWE surely wants to do eventually.

Why not? It would be a transitional reign (same as Edge and Ortons first ones) have him win the rumble and defend against Reigns at fast lane in a 3 on 1 match, Reigns wins the title back (say a bit of ND miscommunication foreshadowing a split months later). It would make the rumble less predictable and give fast lane a story which is becoming more and more difficult as the rumble storyline logically jumps straight to mania.

Kofi/New Day should win Money in the Bank (which I would hold at Wrestlemania this year instead of making it it's own PPV).
