The Mystery Men thread somehow reminded me of this movie. What did you think of it? I loved it when i first saw it, and i do have to admit its one of the better "gross-out" comedies of the late 90s-early 2000s time frame, but the "franks and beans" scene STILL makes me cringe.

For some reason, my favorite part is crying Ben Stiller's inability to pronounce Favre's name correctly.

It's aged ok, loved it when it first came out, probably the hottest Diaz has ever been, plus the only movie to manage to hurt a dog and keep the audience. It's good. Wouldn't say classic, but it's good.

I like it, but what the hell was up with the 90's and the "gross out" thing? I want to blame Tom Green, but...okay I blame Tom Green

Speaking off, I recently caught Freddie Got Fingered on HBO. Sometimes you're not supposed to take life seriously. Say what you want, I laugh often every time I see it.

Tom Green had a public access show in Canada in the early 90's. His nastiest stuff came from there. Most of it is on Youtube.

Loved it.
The end of the movie was my favorite bit. I wont spoil it if you haven't seen it.
I think the moral to that story was: Avoid Mary at all costs.

Wouldn't say classic, but it's good. Still say The Mask was her finest role in terms of eye candy. But yeah, a fantastic flick with some amazing laughs.

Nostalgia chick did a great review of Freddy got fingered. As for Something about Mary. I remember when all the girls were talking about "Matt and Ben" I really thought they meant Ben Stiller and Matt Dillon due to this movie

To be honest, Freddy Got Fingered is not that bad of a movie. Am I going to rush out and buy the extended blu ray disc, probably not. But if it is on at in the late of night, I rather watch that then a paid program hawking a pressure cooker( ala Snitsky), blender, or an induction style hot plate, which I have to say does intrigue me.

And most Canadians didn't know who Tom Green was until MTV. But the gross out thing I blame the Farley's and Jim Carey. Like Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura was pretty much the start

That's probably truly the Farrelly brothers last classic movie.
All their movies since then have their moments but not a ton of laughs.

I often wonder what the hell happened to them, to have such a dip in quality. They just started sucking one day. And to compare dumb and dumber, kingpin, and theres something about Mary to dumb and dumber too and the three stooges....it just does not add up. On topic I have loved this movie and consider it a true Gem and classic.

I don't mind "Shallow Hal" and I actually can still enjoy that film, despite how it started to change its tone towards the end. The one that I am not sure will hold up is "Osmosis Jones." I found it interesting way back when, but it probably would not hold up now.

I'll always have a soft spot for it due as probably the most mainstream exposure the great Jonathan Richman ever got.
