I nearly had all the drywall finished for my dream home. Then Chris showed up and broke the walls down. Doesn't matter. It was Paige's house, anyway.

I still like Chris Jericho, but some of his comments, particularly regarding Reigns, seem kinda dickish. You don't need to be a wrestler to know that Reigns' booking leading into WrestleMania last year was terrible.

As mentioned, I find it hard to give any sort of time or leeway to someone who isn't smart enough to keep a lid on their total contempt of wrestling fans while trying to hawk an awful wrestling pocast, wrestling returns of dwindling importance and relevance and unlistenable ass metal while dressing like they've stood on an Evanesence landmine

I feel bad that Ambrose is going to have a WM match against this man for the IC title. Ambrose deserves so much better. While I agree that Ambrose deserves to be higher up the card, a singles match for the IC Title against Chris Jericho would be the biggest thing to happen for that title in over a decade. It's not the title, I wouldn't mind Ambrose defending it at WM but it's the fact it's Chris Jericho. He's not who he used to be in 08. I've just spent the last few minutes running down his career these past 3 years and let be break down every single feud he's had. Just look at this: Lost the Ziggler feud, lost to Hell No, lost to Bryan, didn't win the Chamber match, lost against Shield, lost against Barrett for the IC title in their feud, lost to Fandango at WM but won against him at Extreme Rules so I'll give him that. Lost to Ziggler again, lost in the Punk feud, lost to Ryback in their feud, beat Wyatt once but lost to Wyatt at Summerslam and lost to him again to end their feud. Lost the Orton feud, Lesnar destroyed Jericho, beat Neville at BITE, lost against the Wyatts while trying to help Ambrose/Reigns and lost to Owens. That's it. Ambrose defending against him because he's "Chris Jericho" just doesn't hold merit anymore. Fandango and Neville are the guys who make him credible? The titles don't make the guy anything if he's lost about every feud these past 3 years. I say put Ambrose against somebody like Lesnar or Taker or just somebody who's got some wins to them to become credible. Jericho's going to have to beat a lot of guys decisively to even be in Ambrose's league for WM given how he's been recently. Not just midcard guys but somebody important. Ambrose is the #2 guy kayfabe full-time babyface. It's like Sheamus. The guy's won so many titles and yet we consider him just a midcard guy but at least Sheamus has feuds. That's Jericho these days.

Jericho is the guy they use when they want someone to look like they're doing something important but not really.

Never understood the hatred he gets.
Personally glad he's back, can still go in the ring and his match against Neville was one of the better matches of the year. Looking forward to seeing him in person on Monday.
I hope the hatred eventually subsides, gets tiring reading people constantly bashing him.

I honestly sorta hope he wins the Rumble now. I'd laugh most heartily.

I still enjoy his perfomances, but i just can't bring myself to be very excited about his story after they started to mean less. Still a great perfomer just need a reason to get behind him.
And yeh,him as person seemed to just say all the wrong things for me,but it doesn't affect that much

The first thing to come into my head when I hear "Chris Jericho" is this

A few things about Jericho.
I have no interest in seeing him on TV and I don't get excited for any returns he makes. That's nothing personal against him.
I like Jericho's podcast when he interviews wrestlers and think after Austin he is the most natural of all the wrestling podcasts.
Now here is something I have noticed like many others. On his twitter account going by some of his comments he makes he seems to offen show contempt for wrestling fans. This does not show as much on his podcast but some of his tweets seem to amount to 'what a bunch of marks' or 'man you fans are idiots'.
Maybe he only means some fans but I have noticed on twitter that alot of wrestlers have trouble distinguishing their annoyance towards a small section of fans and often make it sound like they outright just hate wrestling fans.

I don't think it's all that hard to understand why some people have soured on him in recent years. It's mostly to do with his podcast and social media personality. There have been a number of times where we've seen Jericho show extremely thin skin when addressed with fan criticism. Along with that there's also been times where he's been outright dismissive and derisive of certain fan opinions, such as the often brought up Roman statement he made (which he completely backtracked on, but that's another criticism for another argument), or this past week regarding his comedy segment on RAW. If you can't understand why this sort of personality trait is off putting to a segment of people, I don't know what else to tell you.

After going back and reading what Jericho initially said regarding Roman Reigns, the funny thing is that he was exactly right.
The fact that he said people should "shut the hell up and listen to what I'm saying" is the sore point people have, but in the end, the guy was right, and all of these things are general consensus now.
Of course, the headline of the article was "CHRIS JERICHO TO ROMAN REIGNS HATERS: SHUT THE HELL UP", which probably made that a bigger deal than it should've been, because if you read it in context it's not really like that.

Interesting, I always heard that the value of a great worker is that they can carry other wrestlers to decent matches, or mask deficiencies that non-decent workers have. Now in the defense of Reigns, he isn't a Giant Gonzales level of awful or anything, and I really think he's improved over the years.

But to me it seems like he's being made out to be better than he is because people had the exaggerated expecation that he would be "Giant Gonzales levels of awful" and are pleasantly surprised that he isn't.

As mentioned, I find it hard to give any sort of time or leeway to someone who isn't smart enough to keep a lid on their total contempt of wrestling fans. I give leeway to wrestlers in this instance because I think it should go without saying that the class of people these guys are usually responding to are very low. Jericho's career (especially if he's a babyface) depends on the approval of the audience so if he was openly shitting on them at every opportunity that wouldn't be smart. It's obvious that when Jericho has his online tantrums it's because he's facing a barrage of people who not only think he sucks, but feel the need to directly inform him of that. It's up to you to decide whether you think he should be the bigger man and keep his mouth shut or if he should lash out, and ultimately it's probably wiser to not let it get to you but it's completely human to want to try and get your shots in. Completely understandable for Jericho to want to defend his work in my eyes.

I'm just so f***ing done with him, his regular comebacks are also resulting in diminishing returns since he's never away for long enough and anyone that beats him proceed to do jack shit afterwards.
