On the heels of the news that the St. Louis Rams are moving back to Los Angeles and how fans feel ripped off and jilted and felt they did everything they could, what other teams did you feel were unjustly ripped away from cities? Here are a few I can think of:
Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City Thunder: F*** that shithead Clay Bennett. If you haven't watched the Supersonics documentary, do it. I will never cheer for the Thunder and hope Durant and Westbrook bail as soon as they can.
Hartford Whalers to Carolina Hurricanes. Quebec Nordiques to Colorado Avalanche. Charlotte Hornets to New Orleans Hornets. Montreal Expos to Washington Nationals.
Got anymore?

Like Seinfeld once said your just cheering for different laundry. People should stop stanning for pro sports teams based on being in the same city or region.

Rams moving to St. Louis from Los Angeles in 1995, ending a 50 year run.
Funny how people forget this.

The Rams were stolen from St. Louis because of a complete idiot who inherited the team from her dead husband. I've been a Rams fan since I was in diapers and have nothing against St. Louis (I was technically born there), but "St. Louis Rams" always sounded odd, even at their best.

Montreal Expos to Washington Nationals. The Expos had to get the hell out of Montreal at the end because the fans were not showing up anymore and it got to the point where the last year, they had to share games with Puerto Rico in an attempt to get people into the building for the games.

The move of the Thrashers from Atlanta to Winnipeg was awful. I'm glad a team is back in Winnipeg, but the way the move happened and what a bunch of useless assholes ASG(the ownership group of the Hawks/Thrashers at the time) were about the whole situation left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Cleveland Browns to Baltimore and them becoming the Ravens.
Art Modell packed his bags and went to Baltimore, won a title and became (up until this year really) one of the most stable and successful franchises in the NFL. Browns come back into the league a few years later and......yeah....it's the exact opposite of what I just wrote.

Yeah, f*** ASG. I hated when we lost the Thrashers. It seemed as if hockey was slowly picking up steam in the area and then they were gone. Thankfully the Hawks have new owners. To say they're better off is a severe understatement.

Almost 60 years and there's people who still don't like the Dodgers moving out of Brooklyn. You have no idea how much this was invoked when the Nets moved in.
Interestingly enough, the Islanders moving 30 miles west to Brooklyn hasn't gotten over well itself.
As for the Rams, turns out LA stole them from Cleveland right after they won an NFL title. Can you imagine the uproar if a team moved immediately after winning a title?

even bigger travesty: the NHL doing everything it can to keep the Coyotes from leaving Arizona.
these moves usually happen for a reason, Bettman.

The fact that the Jets and the Hornets are more or less back as they were speaks volumes as to how bad of an idea the initial relocations were.

The Colts in the middle of the night
I'd say the Kings going from Kansas City to Sac, but that move was more or less justified. Doesn't keep me from getting a little misty eyed though.

I'd say almost any relocation that revolves around a super-wealthy owner crying poverty and holding a city hostage to get a sweetheart new non-municipal stadium/arena deal.
There are other ways that relocations can be real BS, but that will always take the cake, for me.

When you are playing in a 30,000 seat arena, lose a lot of money over the past 10 or so years, and are about to go head to head with a new Cleveland team in the new, upstart league that would become 10 times more popular than any other pro football team at the time, Dan Reeves didn't have much choice. He moved to LA because he got to play in the Coliseum in a brand new market. Remember by that point the NFL had never had a team west of Chicago, this move truly made them a national league. It's a completely different situation than today.

Honestly I don't think fans will ever think objectively and unemotionally about teams moving. So the answer is pretty much all of them.

I never seen an commissioner so hell bent on keeping a money pitt franchise. Usually commissioners can't wait to relocate a franchise that's struggling or needs a new arena. I also found it hilarious Bettman in his smug asshole glory was in Calgary trying to pressure them to get a new arena or may get a relocation. Like bitch please. Calgary is one of your most valuable franchises and it's a consistent money maker, especially during oil boom years.

Wimbledon to Milton Keynes Could have been even worse. I'm sure there were rumours that Sam Hamman was looking to move Wimbledon to Dublin some years before they left for Milton Keynes.
