I do wish they'd use Terry's Garou MOTW look more. They started using it in the Orochi Pillars arc with KOF2003, but they dropped it in XII and XIII in favor of his classic "Dominoes Pizza Delivery" look.
And one thing SNK has a big edge over Capcom, IMO, is boss themes. General series music is about equal (and both companies have some fantastic music), but SNK's boss themes are excellent. Capcom has some good ones in Akuma's, Alpha 3 Shin Bison's, and Third Strike Gill's, but SNK's are just classic.
Here are some examples:
Geese Howard (KOF2002UM mix)
Goenitz (KOF96)
Orochi Team (KOF97)/Orochi Yashiro (KOF98)
Orochi (KOF97)
Omega Rugal (KOF98)

Side with Street Fighter given, from the II onward it married depth with accessibility. King of Fighters and 90% of SNK's offerings are some of my favourite games ever, no question about it, but there is a slight barrier in how immediately complex they can be.

Street Fighter all the way for me.
No disrespect to King Of Fighters by any means.
But the Street Fighter franchise is something I have always loved.
Which is why it annoys me greatly that I won't be able to play 5 on my Xbone -.-

Since we're on the subject, am I the only one who thinks Wolfgang Krauser was a lame boss?
Because he should've been a good guy.
a big German opera-loving pro wrestler nobleman who speaks fluent English should have been an EPIC main character for the SNK stable. Guy oozes charisma, he's just on the wrong side of the locker room!

I love both, but it's Street Fighter for me. Finest 2D fighting games of all time, for my money.

In contrast, all of the other SNK bosses are just bastards, like when Yamazaki was the sub-boss in FF3. God, I love Yamazaki.

No ulterior motivate, no plans to rule/be god, just be number 1.

Oh, why must I choose? Then again, I have played various SNK titles than I have Capcom. Now I have played almost all of the Street Fighter titles, but I am not sure if I should have more experience with Capcom's fighting game catalog in order to choose. I mean I have played the first Darkstalkers before, and also the crossover games like the Marvel games, which were great, no doubt. However, I still have not played their other fighting games like Rival Schools or Star Gladiator.
As for SNK, I have played almost all of the KOF games, except for XII and XIII, and I own the latter but still have not played it. I know I am not alone when I complain about the cheapness of the SNK bosses. I have heard horror stories about Igniz from KOF 2001, but I remember thinking that Magaki from KOF XI was a nightmare as I remember one time being so close to beating him (And I used the option of having his health bar down halfway), but I still could not beat him. It's like the game was cursed and it did not want me to beat the game. Of course, I heard no boss was as much of a nightmare as Igniz. I still need to play some of the other SNK games like the other Art of Fighting games, and also Samurai Shodown. I remember playing the first two Samurai Shodown games in arcades as a boy, but it has been so long.
If I had to choose, I would go with Capcom, but SNK is really close.

Igniz is an absolute pain in the ass. His design is great, but oh my god he's the most broken boss ever. Worse than Gill from Third Strike, hell I'd say he's even worse than Jinpachi from Tekken.

I can't argue on Gill from SF3 Third Strike, especially when I remember first seeing the Resurrection move he does after playing that game in the arcade. I was like, "WHAT THE HELL?! I JUST BEAT HIM!"

It's the same thing. It's an ouroboros of ripping each other off. In the end, fight game fans are the victors.
