One thing I have to applaud is that they aren't right now with the way things are and the mood of The Temple, they aren't trotting out comedy wrestlers or doing comedic skits like WWE would be, right now those like El Mariachi, Masacrita and Pimpinela would be out of place and wouldn't fit in with how things have become and the darker tone of the show. If Catrina and Mil Muertes is expelled then they can come back but right now there's no place in LU for them with all that has happened.
I loved the little tune they were playing upon the reveal of Mysterio really upped the awesome of the scene that was already pretty cool to begin with.

I think I really just loved the acknowledgement that he's not here to be the hero, he's just here to show him the ropes.
...now, I know Lucha is built on Trios, but I want a 4-on-4 match with Puma/Fenix/Azteca II/Pentagon vs. Mil/Cuerno/Mundo/Matanza (if Dario and Catrina can come to an arrangement) pretty badly...

Can RM still go? I know towards the end of his WWE run he was kind of the drizzling shits.
Has the time off and reduced schedule made him any better?
He's not as sloppy as he was at the end of his WWE run, nowhere near the quality fans remember of him, but working the Lucha style and multi man matches has lightened the load on him.

Still hasn't turn back time for his knees because they regressed since returning to AAA. He is suffering from knee issues and cut back on his wrestling dramatically.
Speaking of AAA, some major things are happening that might effect a number of the luchadores in LU. Mysterio pretty much quit AAA over money issues. He has not officially left the company but no one is expecting him back until that matter is resolved. That makes 3 people (Alberto, Sin Cara Uno, Rey) who came in last year and gone just as quick. Konnan is having serious issues with AAA management and about to air some dirt out. Sexy Star is disgruntled and might jump ship. Strange times ahead. Depending how much influence AAA has in LU, we might see roster change ups.

AAA needs to get their heads outta their own asses and hand that company over to Dorian before everyone jumps ship.

You would think that would happen but the older lucha libre companies are stubborn as f***. When Konnan was booking, younger wrestlers were be put in higher spots, strong heel stables, and matches putting the most athletic people in the spotlight. Now it's old luchadors like Blue Demon Jr and Dr Wagner Jr getting the big pushes. All the older guys got to do is complain to management about lack of pushes and they get it without questions. The ongoing issue with most of the LU people is that AAA wants a chunk of their checks. During season 1, AAA got paid for the talent and they gave the luchadores a portion of that payday. This season, checks are going to the talent directly. Which AAA wants them to give them money from that. As you can imagine, the people who work for AAA are not happy about that. Some want to quit AAA but if they do that they won't be able to stay with Lucha Underground.

So if they quit AAA could they not just sign directly with LU like Richochet?
Of course this is not taking into account visa's and relocation or any other logistics like that but there is no way AAA can prevent them from signing directly can they?

They could do that but considering AAA has some ownership stakes in LU, they might not be allowed back. Anyone with a AAA contract is under their control.

I had to look up if those guys were still with the company (El Mariachi is, since he's also one of the Disciples of Death, but I wondered if he was keeping the gimmick going), and they (and Vinny Massaro, Daivari and Super Fly, who I was also wondering about) are mostly all on Twitter (including El Mariachi), tweeting a lot of LU stuff, and in some cases, re-tweeting anti-Cornette posts, so it's safe to say we'll see them sooner or later.

Them or TNA, I don't which one is more terribly booked right now.
I heard Sexy Star has vacated the Mixed Tag Title she holds with Pentagon calling it worthless as they've had it for two years and haven't once defended it. And Pentagon and Joe Lider held the tag belts for a year and didn't defend them once either. King Cuerno is the Cruiserweight Champion and his last defense was in March. And it's been half a year since The Mega title was Vacated when Alberto jumped ship at Summerslam.
The press conference should be interesting I am wondering if an ultimatum will be handed out if it is even possible of course like either hand over the reigns to Dorian or they all quit.
As that seems to be the only way anything would change in AAA right now.

Finally caught the 2nd episode. So did Cage suddenly turn face or was that more of a "the fans hate Mundo more than him" type of deal? Because Cage seemed like a legit badass babyface in that segment.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler} There was a match filmed with him and The Crew taking on Drago, Famous B, and Bengala. They would've lost and The Crew would've blamed him for it and he laid them out in response turning face, but it turned out to only be a dark match.

That's 3 for 3 on the Lucha Libre World Cup championship team who are no longer in AAA.
Was Antonio Pena's death the point where AAA started going downhill? Certainly seems that way.

Not sure how of their connections (hi Striker) but this is a small bit of a larger article from PWInsider on the issues:
For the second season, wrestlers are being paid directly by Lucha Underground but sources claim there has been pressure from AAA that the talents still pay AAA the same percentage. The frustration has been enough that there's been talk of some talents looking to leave the promotion for work elsewhere. There was also a concern that since AAA has ownership points in LU, that if they did, anyone who bolted would find themselves iced out of future Lucha Underground seasons, something none of the AAA/LU talent would want since across the board, they have been very happy with the treatment they've received from LU management.
We are told that while AAA has ownership in a percentage of Lucha Underground, they have no creative say in how talents are booked or used on the series, which is set in it's own "universe" so to speak.

Sounds like that puts AAA in either get their shit together or get f***ed situation since I am sure LU will have no problem signing those luchadores exclusively.
