For some reason, neither of the shift keys on my keyboard are working. This might not sound too bad but i didn't realise how much I actually use them. No 'at' symbol, colon, parentheses, quote marks or anything above the numbers. Very annoying. I've done the obvious stuff like check connections and troubleshoot under control panels and I only have the one keyboard. Could this be a virus, anybody ever encountered anything like this/ That was supposed to be a question, but the question mark won't work1

A new keyboard can be as low as $9.99, you migth want to just swap one out, and if the new one doesn't work on your system, return it whilst pondering your bigger tech problems.

How can the shift keys not be working if you are starting your sentences with capital letters?

How can the shift keys not be working if you are starting your sentences with capital letters? Turning Caps lock on and off?

Would it kill them to make a keyboard where all these important symbols have their own keys//11 I mean really. It wouldn't take up much more room on the damn thing and would eliminate the need for a shift key.

It would take up quite a bit of room, because you'd need all the capital letters to. I think the shift key is MARVELOUS.

I usually just buy another damn keyboard.
It's not uncommon for me to go through five a year, what with spills and them just dying on me for no reason.

I'm honestly on my third one in what seems like about a year. My son uses computers well, better than he holds drinks. While he's playing, he's spilling too. Guaranteed. Also, I'm sure a new keyboard would do the trick. I doubt there are any viruses that would simply not allow you to use the shift key, yet remain running smoothly aside from that.

Come to think of it, i did spill something on it a few weeks back. Looks like a new keyboard is the way forward. It would take up quite a bit of room, because you'd need all the capital letters to. I think the shift key is MARVELOUS. TODAY'S TIP [colon] Read a thread and think a little before posting

A shotgun to the screen usually works.
