36 yrs old. Have watched wrestling my whole life. From northeast so raised on wwf and maple leaf wrestling. Was actually on original wc boards. I admit to having slightly different taste in wrestling, but here is something i just dont get: dean ambrose. I find his act incrdibly grating. His facial expressions are annoying, i find his offense unbelievable, that rebound clothesline is awful. The lunatic fringe character seems forced, nothing about him seems crazy, he just make weird faces and unnatural body movements. He looks un threatening. I think its just so over the top, that i can not see him as a top star. Owens is leaps and bounds more talented. And now people say ambrose should beat lesnar. I just dont get it. I understand different tastes, and no offense to ambrose fans, i just dont get it.

Those are pretty common issues that people here have with Ambrose, particularly his moveset. So don't worry, it's not just you.

Different strokes for different folks. I happen to enjoy Dean Ambrose. I can understand how he's not for everybody. There are quite a few wrestlers on the roster that others really love that I don't understand the love for, and in fact, they annoy the hell out of me.
So like EoE said, it's not just you. You are entitled to your own opinion.
And no, I'm not holding a bat behind my back. *wink wink*

Don't really care for Ambrose, I'm very, very aware it's not a real fight when watching him, it's mostly his footwork, with is always very deliberate, and calculate steps, never moving too fast, just plodding along.
He could be good, don't his character or his look, but I cant stand his ring work.

I never had a serious problem with him until he started using that dumb lariat. I hate that thing so much.

I wouldn't say the next Austin, but he does have a natural connection to the crowd that not many people have. He does certainly have his issues, with a lot of what he does looking fake at times. His character is just so much fun though. The unhinged role makes for entertaining TV and he is believable as the insane dude.

Not a major fan of him either, always considered him the weakest of the Shield members. I also hate his attire, nothing about him makes him look like something other than just some guy.
That said, he's crazy over and quite possibly their biggest face now. Despite how I feel, WWE really should push him.

Yeah OP I pretty much agree with everything you said. That's whats cool about wrestling though, different guys can appeal to different people. Almost every person could have someone on the roster they could pull for or enjoy watching.
Really have a hard time myself finding anything that Ambrose does better than Owens, but again that's just me.

Im glad this was civil discussion. Ive always respected the diff strokes aspect of fandom. Id like to see a more toned down sinister heel, i think that may work.

I wouldn't say out of touch. I love Ambrose but I can see his flaws. I just have an easy time not caring about them because he entertains the hell out of me.

I was more of fan of crazy indy Jon Moxley than WWE babyface Dean Ambrose. I still like him and think he's had some really good matches as a solo star but his act in WWE seems to me like a watered down version of the stuff he used to do.

I want you to know you're not alone. Many think the same, however I disagree with every point you made. Im on the other side. I feel what he puts out is what WWE has lacked for a while.

In spite of everything that's hokey about Ambrose, he's one of the few guys that's fairly unpredictable in a setting that's very sanitized and over-produced. And when he's on fire in a promo, he's on fire. I still remember the week after the Shield broke up and Roman and Dean each cut seperate promos, and Ambrose made Roman look like such an amateur in comparison in just two minutes.
You're right that Kevin Owens is better, but Kevin Owens is better than a lot of people, and I hope both of them are in a high profile match at this year's Mania.

I agree, I'm not a fan but if he didn't have the PG blanket and could be more edgy, he could be awesome.

Ambrose definitely seems to be one of those guys you either love or hate. I'm firmly in the love camp, but completely understand every criticism of the guy.
On the flip side, I can see why people love Owens and I appreciate his immense talent, but he's one of those guys who doesn't hold my interest at all.

Ambrose is just a rollercoaster of a guy, hot one week and cold the next and sometimes in the same segment, that Brock/Dean segment was everything Ambrose should be, just a scrappy brawler who doesn't stay down for shit, but then that "aw shucks" low blow at the end just ruined the whole moment. I think we were spoiled by Jon Moxley promos where he seemed legitimately unhinged and his psychotic ramblings felt like he'd be alone in a room ranting to himself whether a camera was there or not. Ambrose has too many moments of "get a load of how crazy I am" where the whole thing feels like a put on. Ambrose stabbing a dummy with a screwdriver, pulling Nickelodeon pranks on Rollins, squirting guys with condiments, thankfully I don't remember them getting that weird with him lately but they still get pretty obnoxious with him.
