Let's try to keep it within like 24 hours of the deadline itself.
Devils trading for Alexander Mogilny in 2000 a trade which news broke after the deadline itself.

Didn't the trade for Clyde Drexler that helped the Rockets repeat as NBA champs from the 6th seed come right at the deadline?

Liverpool signing Luis Suarez on deadline day in 2011 for £23 million. (Unfortunately, they signed Andy Carroll for £35 million that same day. But also sold Fernando Torres for £50 million that day too). Although he had a few "indiscretions" (all of which involved him opening his mouth in some way), Suarez was a tremendous signing. And when we sold him, we got nearly three times what we paid for him.

Practically every move the Oilers did in 2006. Hell many of the trades were win wins for both teams. I did like how Iginla trolled Boston fans that one year deciding last minute to go with Pittsburgh instead.
Also the fact that Jultz got traded yesterday is an addition by subtraction. The fact they got a 3rd round pick is amazing, a bag of pucks and doing the others team laundry for a week would of still been considered a steal.

When the Cubs traded fir Nomar in '04. While he never did much in a Cub uniform, it still does t take away from the feeling I had when the trade was announced.

Ditto on the other side- simply because the Red Sox upgrading their defense and having the guts to trade Nomar in '04 probably won them the World Series that season.

My personal favorite, the Braves getting Fred McGriff from the Padres in 1993.

What if the Cubs had opted for Cabrera instead of Nomar? It probably wouldn't have made a difference. The Cubs downfall that season was the bullpen.

Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe for Heathcliff Slocumb in 1997. I was overjoyed when the trade was announced and I didn't know who Varitek & Lowe were. I was just so happy to be rid of Slocumb. I would have traded him for a used rosin bag. Instead we got two men who made multiple All-Star teams and played big roles in the Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship. A steal if I ever saw one.

Best trade has to be Joe Nieuwendyk to Dallas for Jarome Iginla.
The Stars got their Stanley Cup and the Flames got a franchise player - a perfect win-win.

Nieuwendyk was the missing piece winning The Conn Smythe. It was the perfect trade. I do wonder if Dallas would of won a couple of cups if they had Iginla though. Like Iginla in the early 2000's was probably the best forward in the league playing in Calgary without a true number one center.

Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa to Detroit for Yoenis Cespedes has to be up there. Mets had just had a deal fall apart which would've sent Wilmer Flores and Zack Wheeler for Carlos Gomez. Instead, Flores hit one of the more memorable regular season home runs last year and Yo didn't stop hitting.

I was going to post that one. And to think they would've done the trade for either Varitek or Lowe, but Seattle's GM misheard them and thought Boston wanted both of them. And he agreed to it! Thank you kindly good sir, because I don't know who would've pie-faced A-Rod without that trade.
