It was the most rushed and stupid decision the show took.
There was still tons of untapped potential stories with a cast of friends on similar ground, but nah, let's sell them toys, the masses will do enough metal gymnastics to come to love her anyway.
Absolute bullshit.

Absolute bullshit. Considering at the time they made the episode Magical Mystery Cure was going to be the SERIES finale, it's understood why it happened as soon as it did. By the time they got news that they were getting a Season 4, the episode was probably too far in production to change things, so they went with it and worked with it. And what they've done since then has still been good IMO, so no harm done. Plus, leads to adorable moments like this:

One thing I forgot to mention relating to this... I also find it intriguing how the show itself seemingly made wanting everyone as 100% equal to be an out-and-out heel trait with the Starlight Glimmer arc of Season 5.

Because that isn't the special talent that got that cutie mark. It was making a Sonic Rainboom. Find a way to do something like that and you'll be fine.

I just hate the whole "You have to accept everything the show throws at you" attitude some people seem to have.
No I don't
and I wont

Well, it's work time again (though tomorrow at this time I'll have been at work almost an hour already due to the time change). But for now, Obliga-Twi.

It's never bothered me. And in all seriousness, I feel like the fact that so many were close to turning their back on a character and/or the show in general based on what boils down to a glorified job promotion and slight change in appearance... It goes against so much of what the show stands for. I guess it's just my personal wrestling fan psyche that's just coming into it, where I don't believe that one person being pushed above the others somehow automatically marginalises everyone else to complete insignificance. I enjoy variety in my entertainment. Pushing one person above all others limits the stories you can tell. ESPECIALLY in wrestling.

I enjoy variety in my entertainment. Pushing one person above all others limits the stories you can tell. ESPECIALLY in wrestling. Variety's probably the one thing there's been PLENTY of in the two seasons you've missed out on. There's been tonnes of focus and development for the rest of the Mane 6, many of the characters outside of it and a whole lot of great new ones. Just this last season, one of the best episodes of the season was built around a really heartwarming Big Macintosh and Apple Bloom story. Not to mention the pure fanservice that was Episode 100 being built around the top background characters. I only use wrestling as an example because of how much debate goes on about who should be the top guy and how someone else being that guy means that the guy you do like should just quit because he'll NEVER be the top guy... and such.

Seems like it has been forever that a comic has been released, a couple of delays is the reason for that.
Amazing to think that near the end of the year, we will have 3 comics a month released.
