I hope Rarity was among the mane cast members who was less extraneous than the others. Honestly she probably got the least to do. Other than maybe Fluttershy who I can't actually remember having any lines. |

I know Rainbow, AJ, and Fluttershy were addressing the Crystal ponies, Pinkie babystting Flurry Heart, and Twilight researching. No clue about about Rarity. |

Just finished watching now, I'd say it was solid but unspectacular. I kinda' liked having a less grandiose premiere than in seasons past, but as others have said, the Crystal Empire just isn't a particularly engaging locale, and the two plotlines never really gelled. Still, there was nothing that out-and-out bad about the episode, so I'd probably give it a 7.
