Can we just pretend that Wrestlemania 3 had 193,000 people instead so that Hulk and Andre can still hold the distinction of the highest drawing main event in WWE history? Not as long as the Hulkster hates the brothers, Brother. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 500,000 THAT HAD TO BE HELD BACK, JACK, WHILE THE HULKSTER MURDERED THAT STINKY GIANT, DUDE?!

So I'm assuming they're not doing standing room tickets then? They got 108K for basketball, not sure why this event is 20K less.

So far they have not sold standing room tickets. The standing room tickets are what brings the 100,000 attendance figures.

Didn't Meltzer just report that tickets weren't selling very well?

The attendance figures never made scene. How do you have 70,000 when you have a BIG stage cutting into the seating but get the same number in the same arena without a stage? Example WM 18 compared to WM 6

Goes to show how strong the Wrestlemania brand is. Yeah, but the narrative on the net has been "OMG I'm so going to laugh when they can barely fill Jerry World thanks to them not listening to their fans by having Roman Reigns in the main event!"

By now you should learn not to follow mob mentality. Wrestlemania tickets would sell good even if it was no matches were made until a week before it happens. PPV sells is a whole different answer.

Come to Wembley, Vince. We'll take back our attendance record and then some! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Wembley would be amazing, Croke park would be better.... Not a hope though.

Lets be honest, you're gonna put on Facebook "I GOT TICKETS FOR WRESTLEMANIA!" Not "I GOT TICKETS TO SEE HHH VS ROMAN REIGNS!" Being there is the draw.
It's a bit like Glastonbury. Tickets for that sell out before anything gets announced. Buy the tickets then bitch about the line-up.

It's reasons like this that Vince thinks he can ignore the boos Roman has been getting and force him into being a top face IMO

Over 100,000 fans, and all of them will boo Roman Reigns when he wins the belt.

I think there's a difference between tickets sold and attendance. A large chunk of event tickets are purchased by companies seeking to make a profit selling them on.
If my business purchased 5,000 tickets from WWE and we sold 3,000 - that's 2,000 tickets we haven't managed to sell on and therefore 2000 empty seats. The WWE still considers them sold because I've purchased them, but nobody's showing up.
...maybe

These sold very well early on, but the demand hasn't been quite as expected so far.

I mean, nobody was going to stay home just because Roman Reigns is in the main event. It's entirely possible that the entire arena will boo Reigns (which I would f***ing love just for the hilarity of it, by the way), but it's not like tickets weren't going to sell.

I still need to wait and see if the (actual) attendance is 100K+, but I would think there's little doubt their old attendance record was going to be broken. It's pretty much the entire point of putting Mania in that stadium. If they don't build a stadium with large attendance in mind, they never have Mania in Dallas.

Exactly it's not a local event like some random PPV like Elimination Chamber in Corpus Christi, it's a f***ing international event where people plan the whole trip out from August from the tickets, to which hotel to book, to plane tickets, to do other touristy stuff the city holds, the exact day to buy the event and do a money exchangs to match the lowly foreign currency with the mighty USA dollar, etc. Like it requires the same amount of long tern planning and focus if not more than a guy planning to take his family of 5 into Disney Land. The main event could be Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali in a 90 minute iron man match and I'm still going because I already filed in my vacation time at work and have the ticket already. Hell I'm more excited about the vacation in the city than the event itself. New Orleans or Orlando sounds way more appealing than Dallas to me.

Through thick and thin, WrestleMania is a special brand.
I'm glad to hear this. I like a big crowd for the big show. And hey, even more people to boo Roman!

I'll be attending and I don't even have a ticket yet.
Buying a ticket for the show has been a very frustrating process. On the day of release international buyers were unable to get any tickets to show up for the most part, with the occasional nose bleed seats popping up.
Ticketmaster then said more tickets were released, same problem.
At first I thought maybe they were withholding the seats in the club sections until the package buyers were allocated. However there were hundreds of tickets available in these sections on stubhub within hours. There still is, at least 200 dollars over their face value. I really hate the second hand ticket market.
But the guy that said previously most tickets are sold months before they go on sale was right. It's like music festivals over here, tickets for Glastonbury etc go on sale long before the headline act is announced but there's still plenty more to see and do at the event if you don't like the headliners. The event is the draw.
