Its been discussed in the "doesn't deserve its own topic" thread but Asuka's hatred of Stardom is pretty uh...justified in a way? While its less of an issue than it was back then, they leaned HEAVILY into the sex appeal and idol culture aspects of the business. She didn't like how the joshi industry was moving in that direction and wrote a "manifesto" about it, which rubbed a lot of joshi at the time the wrong way and caused a firestorm among the Japanese media.
There's a reason why Asuka is more popular in the west than Japan. It also shows that the media over there still carries a grudge against her for her...very sharp opinions. She got a brief mention at best when she won the RAW title from Bianca and again when she got the new belt. Meanwhile Iyo was on the frontpage of multiple Japanese publications when she won the title at Summerslam.

Does that mean she starts working on her PhD now and already has the qualifications? (I have no idea of the American PhD system.) Because going from nothing to PhD in history in six years should be impossible. It's a cool thing anyway! |
