It’s getting to the point for me where it’s like, OK, I get it, WWE’s not that great at the moment, but dogpiling on someone trying to talk it up doesn’t exactly endear me to that side of the fandom. Certainly there are ways to talk it up without being condescending though, no? Seth isn't exactly Mr. Eloquence. I don't Seth is exactly being condescending, but he is making a bold claim when the backing for said bold claim just isn't there. I don't think for one second that Seth actually believes that Stomping Grounds will contain "the best pro wrestling on the planet" for one minute. He could have made that claim for this year's Wrestlemania, and I would have believed that, but for Stomping Grounds and all of its stale rematches? If Seth wants to sell this show, he could have promised that he'll beat Corbin so bad that he'll never be in title contention again. Hell, I believe that Tama Tonga thinks the G1 has the best pro wrestling in the galaxy, and he's only saying it facetiously. |

I feel like Seth literally puts the weight of it all on his shoulders so he takes it really personally when people overlook his efforts for something else-- like when people paid attention to how ugly they thought the Universal title on its unveiling was instead of the match that was going on at the time. Jericho insulted his and Corbin's booking directly, and so Seth came back with this. Probably should've just ignored what Jericho said, but it is what it is.
Must be really stressful either way for Seth, being one of the top guys when ratings are tanking and ticket sales are down, adding on just the general schedule these guys have to endure. I don't really blame him for just saying something in the heat of the moment, we all have those moments I suppose.
