It would probably mean more if Thanos had done anything of substance since his introduction.
I mean, I'm sure it'll be awesome, but as it is right now, he's guilty of the same issues the majority of the Phase Two villains were criticized for.

Judging by what happened to Thor, he's playing a part in Ragnarok

He only gets up from his throne when he really has to, and then he reminds you why you don't want to witness his power.

At first blush, I liked what I read from the description of the D23 trailer. But the more I think about it, the more I'm worried that Avengers 3.1 and 3.2 will basically be "in order to beat Thanos, we have to punch him harder!" When I'd like to see him undone by his own hubris, which is what happens in the actual IG story.
And he only gets the Infinity Gems in the first place by tricking and outsmarting all of the gem holders (Thanos Quest is such a fun story). But, because he's been so underdeveloped in the movies, Thanos has to be smashed over in a big, bad, physical way.

Pretty much every Marvel movie so far has captured the essence of the stories they've been adapted from without rigidly adhering to the fine details, so with that in mind I do think Thanos' hubris will ultimately be part of his undoing. Him acquiring the gems, however, I expect to be very dark affair with a high body count.

A wet behind the ears intern I can buy accidentally spoiling the end of the biggest superhero movie of all time, but not one of the leading actors who has had the need for absolute secrecy drilled into him on a daily basis for the last six years.

Interesting theory being thrown around on a couple sites that I'm 100% in agreement with and on board with so I'll hide it. {Spoiler}Considering the changes to Gamora, Nebula and the rest of the "Children of Thanos" it's been theorized that the movie Proxima Midnight may be revealed to be Drax's daughter. It would turn out that Ronin didn't really kill her and Thanos trained her as one of his minions like the rest.
That would give Drax a hell of a story arc for the movie(s) and I fully predict that he'll be one of the casualties in the war with Thanos. That would lead Proxima to turn on him and join her "sisters" in helping to take him down before eventually becoming Moondragon.

I wonder if this film will involve the personification of Death, or will Thanos have another goal in mind?

I wonder if this film will involve the personification of Death, or will Thanos have another goal in mind? I wouldn't be surprised if Hela is subbed in for Death. In the recent comics, Marvel has done this. {Spoiler}
