Reminds me of the story Mick Foley told about telling Vince he needed time off and Vince told him no problem and it started immediately. Mick of course was planning to finish his storyline. Point is Vince is the type of guy who will give his guys time off if asked. Despite what happened to Punk. I've always kind of been under the impression that guys not taking time off when they should is more due to the fact they'd lose their spot rather than Vince not granting it. I remember Lance Storm once said that they'd be fine with most guys taking time off if they wanted to. Y eah I can't remember which performer it was. But they said they had gotten an injury and had a meeting with Vince wherein Vince said he could take the time off to heal, but he couldn't guarantee his spot would be there. Seems like typical Vince manhood tests for new guys. A person like Foley or now Bryan need not worry about that.

Unless you're the absolute top, an injury can lead to you losing your spot, because somebody else could be better than you. Drew Bledsoe went down with an injury, everybody thought he'd get the starting job back once he got healthy, the problem for Bledsoe was his backup was Tom Brady. Heck, it can even happen with the top guys, Joe Montana got hurt, Steve Young filled in for a few games, and all of a sudden there's a QB controversy in San Francisco. Montana goes down with another injury, a long term injury, and Steve Young takes over and the Niners decided that they would just go forward with Steve Young at QB. It's why so many athletes will want to play through their injuries when they shouldn't, that guy behind him could jump in and just be fantastic.

If it's baby making time, wouldn't Brie need to be off too? Takes two to tango.

Hopefully it's just Baby Makin' Time Yeah, but isn't Brie supposed to be part of that secondary divas tag match at Wrestlemania (or at least the pre-show)? She just started a feud with Lana, though it seems like that's been quietly dropped in the last week or two in favor of focusing on the two teams as a whole. Most of Bryan's upcoming appearances were scheduled to take place before or during Wrestlemania weekend, except for the European tour which is only about two weeks after that. I don't know, but it doesn't seem like his schedule would interfere with their plans considering she's also scheduled to work during that time frame and the whole baby thing is sorta dependant upon her no longer taking bumps. If anything I'd figure that he'd enjoy being back on the road for a bit and getting to be with his wife as she wraps up her in-ring career. I hope Bryan's doing well and that this is nothing more than him feeling as though it's a little too early to be around the fans and the business this soon after his retirement. He's too talented and smart to let this get him down and to not realize that he's got so much to give that would benefit the world far beyond anything that he or anyone else could ever accomplish in the ridiculous world of professional wrestling.

Well it's obvious. They're erasing Bryan. Soon you'll tune into the Network to see Hardcore Holly win the Triple Threat at WrestleMania XXX. Hardcore Holly winning a Triple Threat main event for the title at mania and then getting showered in confetti? Why do I feel like I've seen that before?

Hopefully it's just Baby Makin' Time He should make the baby inside the ring to show he's really dedicated to this business This I would watch on PPV. Then again it'd probably have that Kevin Dunn editing and going in and out and in and out with every thrust...

Isn't he, as a retired wrestler, already having "time off"?
Seems suspicious to me.

I find that difficult to believe. Well, not exactly. According to various interviews, Russo said Alright, let me stop you right there. Now Russo is a something, something, something-or-other, but in addition to that, he's not a reliable source of historical information whatsoever. A notorious attention-starve liar. Not to mention, a dumb out-of-touch racist.

I hate when it's said like wrestling is the only place where if you leave you "lose your spot." That works everywhere. As you mentioned, you can be the best of the best and still fall when that person who replaced you is now giving same production you did. There is always sharks in the water, you'd be a fool not to want to advance yourself when you see someone fall behind. That is what opportunity and the phrase "next man up" is all about. Sure Vince will let guys take their time off but that doesn't mean your spot will be there when you come back. You may fall back but the world keeps turning.

I feel like I read Edge saying Austin's advice after retiring was to just completely separate from wrestling to make the jarring transition easier.

He should make the baby inside the ring to show he's really dedicated to this business "Springboard Moonsault by Bryan and...oooh, that's gonna make a baby!" "HAHA SHE'S PREGGERS! I LOVE IT MAGGLE!" /Byron hides his face with some papers/ Ric: This reminds me of a time back in Crockett Promotions-- Charlotte: Dad, please, no more of your stories. Kidd: Besides the best time to combine sex and wrestling is in the Dungeon.

If I were to take a guess, it's probably health or family related. Even if he just wanted time to rest, I don't see him giving up Mania Weekend which is usually a pretty lucrative time.
What I really hope isn't happening is that Bryan is trying to get out of his contract so he can wrestle somewhere else.
