Holy.
Crap.
A 46 year old non-wrestler just jumped god knows how many feet off the top of the Cell through a table purely for our entertainment.
Shane McMahon deserves massive amounts of respect right now, unbelievable. What an insane man.

That whole match honestly is a classic. No words at all can describe how much that meant to me. I don't know... its hard to explain.
Thank you Shane, Taker, WWE.

Thanks for once again doing what you could to please the Wrestling Community.
But please, if not for you, but for your kids you brought out tonight. Don't do it again. As far as I know, you aren't immortal.

The match was good, and we were all on the edge of our seats for this moment. My friends weren't even familiar with Shane and his history of stunts like this and knowing something like this would happen I didn't want to spoil it for them when they asked me to explain his deal, so suffice to say they were speechless.

For the rest of time, people will look back fondly on the spot, but will always mention their displeasure for the event on the whole.

Shane is one sick puppy. And still my favorite hardcore wrestler of all time.
Thanks, $$$$.

I don't know if I'm just being ornery, the match was really good, Undertaker's facials throughout really sold Shane McMahon's lunacy well, everything about this match was top notch but I can't help but be annoyed that Mick's cage dive was usurped by an majorly inactive wrestler. Aside from the women they really gave no one new any real shot to stand out tonight.

I think I'm glad Shane did this so no other wrestler will try to this again.

I'm sorry, but I have no appreciation for it whatsoever. I understand what we're saying here, but there was no reason for it. The story was haphazardly thrown together at best, made little to no sense, and with the end result negating the entire hope there would actually be some sort of shake up it also made that dangerous spot completely unnecessary. That spot could have not happened and it wouldn't change anything other than peoples' expectations of Shane doing something like that.

I liked this match and the big spot I felt it told a good story in the ring not a mat classic, but enjoyable.

So Shane had a better HiaC match with Taker than CM Punk did.
Damned part-timers.

What aslow plodding match that seemed to be built around that spot.
Kinda cool, but sandwhiched between two 50 year olds lying on one another tired... Seemed meh

So Shane had a better HiaC match with Taker than CM Punk did. Damned part-timers. In the long run, what does it matter if his match was better? He likely won't be returning, or at least won't stick around for a lengthy period. WWE isn't a product based on singular matches but rather a running story and/or commentary. So if Shane has a 4 star match with taker and Punk's is only 3 but continues the story or branches into a new one, then I'll take the latter.

They only wanted nostalgic fans to expect Shane to do crazy shit this Mania. It wasn't whether he won or lost or the Authority got iced, they wanted that nostalgia cash-in. This whole angle was just to give him a reason to do it.

So if Shane has a 4 star match with taker and Punk's is only 3 but continues the story or branches into a new one, then I'll take the latter. Point taken, but I don't see why we can't discuss a particular match and compare it to others. I mean, in the long run does it matter if CM Punk's 400-day title reign was better or worse than anyone else's? He likely won't be back either, but it's still OK to discuss it. I actually thought Punk-Taker was better than a lot of people who trashed it did, but I thought this was a well-executed example of storytelling in the ring. I don't care if Shane won and "got control of Raw" because that's kayfabe, it's not like VMK & Co. were really putting the internal WWE booking and power structure on the line based on a predetermined match -- the only thing that would have changed would have been the on-camera frontman. I enjoyed the match. Shane is, as a noted above, my favorite hardcore wrestler ever. I was skeptical about his ability to put on a WM-level match with an old Undertaker, but in my eyes they really, really pulled it off.

Meh, then don't build THAT story around that moment. Do something else. Have him do a 6 man tag against the Wyatts where his only big bump is the jump. Hell, for all I care just have him come in Evel style and say "Hey, Shane's back and he's gonna do some stupid shit at Mania in front of his kids!"
