I wound up liking his work quite a bit but I think Tom Phillips has been blowing him away lately.

I thought he was one of the best backstage interviewers in quite a while. Knew how to play exactly to the superstar's strengths without seeming like a robotic telling-instead-of-showing prompter. He and Renee Young made for the most consistent backstage content since the days of Mean Gene and Sean Mooney. He knew just how to set the tone for characters to flourish around him.
I'm bummed by this news. I'll miss you, Milhouse.

And yet, Byron Saxton is still on 3 shows a week.

That sucks, he was one of the most promising commentators in WWE over the last few years.

I knew a commentator named Richy, I guess you could say he was alright. Saw him on the WWE Network holding a mic on a Wednesday Night. ![](http://cdn4.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/scale_crop_768_433/2016/03/prince.jpg) Dig if you will the picture.... Of salad eating Becky Lynch The dressing so lite it covers it.. Can you Becky, can you finish it? Dream if you can an Owens A Kevin of violence and gloom Here he comes with furious poses He threw my phone Rest in piece my I...tunes. WWE just left me standing Alone with no mic and solo Maybe I'm just reprimanding Maybe Alex Reyes should go Maybe he's just my twin brother The tests will soon decide How can I ever recover? This is what it sounds like, When Rich cries...

I was just thinking about the massive number of commentators, ring announcers, interviewers, and talking heads currently employed by WWE, and how superfluous most of them were. Sucks for Rich and he wasn't bad at his job, but they've got too many people filling the same roles. Especially with the in-ring announcers. Let's do a tally. 1- The RAW commentary team (with Byron doing backstage interviews up until a year ago?) 2- The Smackdown commentary team (and they used Mauro as an interviewer last week) 3- Renee Young 4- Corey Graves 5- Tom Phillips 6- Alex Reyes 7- Greg Hamilton 8- Kyle Edwards 9- JoJo 10- Scott Stanford (who only does voice-overs anymore and the RAW preshow) 11- The new Cathy chick who debuted during WM weekend. 12- Others that they can plug into the role (Eden and Dasha from NXT...) That is way too much. Once you get past the first five, you can pretty much let anyone go and it'd be sensible enough. Renee is lucky she's made such a name for herself and Tom is perfect with Graves.

A shame but he didn't really bring anything to the table IMO. Most of the time, I couldn't tell his voice apart from Saxton or Phillips, or even Graves when he wasn't heeling out.

I'll always remember how fast he ran when KO threw Alex Riley over the announce table.

Shame, I liked Rich. I'm sure he'll be fine, though.

I heard a rumour that he was kinda homophobic, hope it's not true, but could see it being why he got das boot. Still, I'll kinda miss Milhouse.
