I have no idea what I just watched. All I know is I am very disappointed. I was really hoping this movie would be set in space, or at least another planet. But nooooo, stuck on Earth with the same bad human characters taking up way too much screen time. I'm confident that Michael Bay will find a way to make Anthony Hopkins annoying.

Other news on this one is that Dinobots are back for this one Also looks Prime is forced by someone to kill off the other Autobots Given the previous movies, I doubt Prime needs much prompting to kill anyone. Yeah really. Say what you want about Batfleck, but Prime as a savage is even more annoying.

Legit question: This is the second movie without Shias character right? Is his character still alive in this Universe? Does he watch TV and see the Transformers are back again and just slowly turn off the TV, lights and retreat to his bed?

I'll be honest, the first wasn't Shakespeare or anything but I'll still admit I liked it a lot and will defend it. The second looks marvelous when you compare it to the third. The third was one of the worst movies I've paid money to go see. I paid for a friend's ticket to go see it with me, too. AND I actually apologized to him after the fact for that being such a tremendous waste of time. I was already in a bad place in my life at that time and that experience was probably more sour because of it. But seriously though, there was an hour long robot fight going on in Chicago and I just didn't care. It was happening, but that didn't mean it was compelling. I watched 4 on Hulu. It had a funny line in it, but yeeeeah I was not a fan.

To not show too much of the Transformers and to make it a story about "a boy and his car". It's insane to imagine what a Transformers Movie could be with literally any other director.

I watched the first movie with my two best friends and enjoyed it. I even enjoyed it the second time I watched it, but by the third watch the charm had completely gone and the shitty character designs and general Bayisms we've come to know and loathe just pissed me off. It's f***ing Oscar bait compared to the dumpster fires that came after it though. Personally, after Guardians of the Galaxy I'd like to see James Gunn get a shot at a Transformers reboot.

My take on all the films: - Transformers: I think that this was the best one of them all. I remember seeing it in theaters back in 2007. I remember a lot of people saying it was the best film of that entire summer and while I had fun, I didn't think it was THAT good. I watched it again sometime later and still enjoyed it, but I still wouldn't call it great.
- Revenge of the Fallen: One of the worst movies that I have ever seen. I watched it with an open mind and also to see if it was bad as a lot of people said it was. I felt that it dragged on and I didn't need those stupid twins or the sight of John Turturro's behind or even the Transformer heaven sequence.
- Dark of the Moon: I saw this in theaters and I remember being bored by a lot of things, except for the freeway chase and the big climax in Chicago. My only complaint about the latter is that it went on too long. I saw it a second time a few years ago and found it more enjoyable.
- Age of Extinction: I had fun in some areas, but it was way too long and they put in the dinobots about two hours into it? I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.
I don't hate these movies, but I don't like them enough to add to my collection.

Other news on this one is that Dinobots are back for this one Also looks Prime is forced by someone to kill off the other Autobots Oh thank Zod that Cade's daughter and her boyfriend aren't in this. I liked Duhamel's character in the first 3 Transformers movies, so him teaming with Cade could actually give us a good human teamup. Yeah, Optimus is being forced, this is just setting up for the next movie where the Quintessons will play a big role as the main villains. As for the other 4 Transformers movies, I'd rank them as the first being the best, Age of Extinction being second, Dark of the Moon as third, and Fallen as second. Age of Extinction had problems, most notably the daughter's boyfriend, and the Dinobots only showing up in the last 20 minutes, but I'd take it over Fallen and Dark of the Moon. Cade was a better main human than Sam was in the sequels, and John Goodman turned in a good performance.

Yeah, I really like the first Transformers film, but I can't even follow the timeline at this point. They kept adding more and more Transformers to the point where a lot of them looked the same, and the 4th one was... weird. I don't know, I might see The Last Knight when it's at Redbox, but I'm nowhere near invested enough to see it in theaters.

I don't hate these movies, but I don't like them enough to add to my collection. Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I enjoyed the first in the theater and didn't think too much about its negative bits. The second was so horrible, (anything involving Sam's parents, the racist robots, the robot testicles, ROBOT f***ING HEAVEN) that it made the first look even worse by highlighting its flaws The third was long, and sometimes boring, but it didn't have the acute sense of stupidity like the second. The fourth was long, and sometimes boring, and is better than the last two due to the absence of all of the prior human leads. It again had some acute stupidity, like the boyfriend character whipping out the statutory rape law. John Goodman was fun. I never understood what the hell they were talking about with Prime being a knight of something or other, and the Dinobots should have been a bigger part of it. They usually are in theaters when there is nothing else out to watch. With a baby on the way I will probably no longer casually spend money on a movie that will probably be mediocre, just because nothing else is out, so #4 is probably the last I'll see in theaters.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.

And this is why I always compared Bay in TF1 to Attitude Era Vince Russo, and any sequel Bay to Russo in WCW and beyond. He had enough of a filter to make his work not totally suck in the first film, but you can see his tropes come through. Then, once given more free reign in the other movies, things became a hot mess. As a sidenote, imagine if ROTF came out NOW. Skids and Mudflap vs. SJWs and other protestors? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ??

Doubt it's going to happen with Bay at the helm. ...until he realizes he can change the planet-eating "mouth" of Unicron in planet mode into a giant anus. Please don't give them any ideas. I was just watching Transformers: The Movie last night and while I can appreciate the special effects fest that these films are. The 1986 film is still the definitive Transformers for me and is it too much to ask to have a film that focuses on the alien robots?
