Hasn't he been done as Bond after every one of these movies? Pretty much, but he was under a four-movie contract. Evidently the producers want him to stay on, and I suppose it's just a question of whether he's willing to take all that money in return for doing a job he hates.

I really liked his Bond.
Casino Royale was amazing.
Quantum of Solace, while no where near as good as Casino Royale, was still a fun flick.
Skyfall was awesome.
And Spectre was quite good.
If he leaves, so be it. He'll always be my James Bond.

I originally wanted Henry Cavill to replace Daniel Craig, but he has the stink of Zack Snyder's Superman on him, so that's out. He also might be a bit too lantern jawed for 007. Idris Elba would have made a good Bond, but he's already 43. How many movies are they going to get out of him? Tom Hardy is a good actor too, but he looks a little too rugged, has horrible teeth (has he had them fixed?), and at 5 feet 9 inches, would be the shortest James Bond ever. Tom Hiddleston would be my choice. He's young, handsome, tall, and oozes charisma. Henry Cavill pretty much played American Bond in The Man from UNCLE. Ian Fleming created Napoleon Solo as a small screen version of Bond.

Yeah Hiddlestone would work well.

I too would rather slit my wrists if they cast an even darker, joyless, and grittier Bond. Someone give Idris Elba a call. At the risk of sounding racist, if they cast Elba I will personally finance a Shaft movie and hire David Hasselhoff in the lead role. Too late! f*** it, Emily Blunt for Bond. At least then it won't be a monument to misogyny.

You know what? They need to go way younger for the next one. Make it feel fresh and hip for a new generation. I've got just the thing.

If true, at least his Bond canon has a happy ending.

Hell, bring in Colin Firth as 006. He was basically like a Bond in Kingsman.

If true, at least his Bond canon has a happy ending. That's why I'd be in favour of ending this continuity. They tied up all the loose threads and let Bond ride off into the sunset. If they bring him back I'm sure they'll go for the whole "Blofeld kills Bond's wife" routine, and we've basically seen that played out already with Vesper Lynd.

I thought Man From U.N.C.L.E. was a good little showcase for Henry Cavill as a Bond-ish character, and he was totally fun in it. If he got the role, I think he'd be better than most think he'd be.

I'm warming up to the idea of Chiwetel Ejiofor as 007. He's got the acting pedigree, he has physical presence and he's younger than Elba, who generally plays better villains.
Hiddleston could be good but I envision his Bond being kinda Moore-ish.

Good. Never really cared for his version of Bond (and how they made the movies). I get they had to update them and to their credit, they made good bank on them, but they were just really generic and boring to me. They took all the kind of...I dunno quirks? out of the character. They could have given him NEW quirks, but they just kinda left him very bland and boring.

The problem I had with the Craig movies is that he was supposedly a newly minted 00-agent in Casino Royale, but just a movie or so later, they were basing the plot on how washed up and burned out he was already. He comes across as too self-pitying and introspective for my liking. I prefer a Bond to be enjoying his work, all for love of queen and country.

Hiddleston, to me, doesn't seem physically imposing enough for the role. I'm not sure I'd buy him in a fistfight.

The entire franchise would have to shift for him. He has gotten buff before when he auditioned for Thor in "Thor".. But I imagine they'd want patented Skinny Hiddleston and focus on gadgets, story, and a focus on actual spying. Idris is my fantasy pick, but I can see they'd get more bang for their buck in Hiddleston.
