Vince McMahon didn't "kill" WCW with his "ruthless aggression." WCW imploded from its own series of screw ups and Vince just picked up the remnants. I think the perception WWE likes to say about WCW was that they were very stupid and shortsighted, while the WWE was brilliant during the Attitude Era. So, it's more of a "They died because they were idiots" rhetoric. I think people already said "Marty Jannetty got superkicked through the window", though. I'm gonna go with Austin 3:16 made Steve Austin a superstar; it gave him popularity, absolutely, but compared to the other King of the Ring winners, who got prominent matches at SummerSlam, he worked the preshow against Yokozuna & only won because Yoko was too fat. It was the Bret Hart feud that he finally got into that prominent spot and was able to showcase himself, though the original emphasis of that feud, as Vince wanted to tell besides traditional hell/face dynamics, was that Bret was "too old" compared to a younger Austin.

Contrary to popular belief, it was Vince McMahon who came up with the pirate gimmick for Paul Burchill. Dave Laguna confirmed this on his old podcast back in 2011. Laguna hated the gimmick, though. Birchall went further in a interview at one point and said that Vince Mentioned Jack Sparrow by name.

Another myth was Hogan's black eye at WM9 being due to Savage but was actually a Jet-Ski accident

I hear a ton of people talk about how during The Rockers split, Shawn Michaels kicked Marty Jannetty through the window of The Barber Shop.
In reality, Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape.

Hogan and Savage did get into a scrap before WM9. It's because Hulk confronted Savage in front of 100,000 people in the locker room after hearing that Savage had become intimate with a teenage Stephanie McMahon. Savage gave Hogan a black eye. Hogan, of course, won the fight but did not leave any marks on Savage because it's bad business. Randy died a few days later.

Vince McMahon didn't "kill" WCW with his "ruthless aggression." WCW imploded from its own series of screw ups and Vince just picked up the remnants. And similar to that, there's also that second half of the myth: "WCW died because they imploded from its own series of screwups and Vince just picked up the remnants." WCW died because they were the plaything of Ted Turner when he owned a major media conglomerate- but a series of mergers and sales in the 1990s rendered Turner a mere figurehead with no power on the AOL Time Warner staff- and when combined with losing their timeslots on TV due to Turner having no power, that caused the cancellation. Even then, companies were willing to buy WCW without a timeslot (and the rise of "new WCWs" throughout 2001, combined with TNA forming in 2002 and basically being "what WCW eventually would have become" since, makes it clear eventually a network would have bit), but Vince McMahon earned right of first refusal to buy WCW if it came up for sale in the Hall and Nash lawsuit and managed to capitalize on it just before the sale took place. WCW sucking in 2000 may have hurt things, and it may have dropped the price from $500 million in 1999 to $3 million in 2001, but even if WCW had the best show on television throughout 2000-01, they'd have still died just as badly.

Burchill contradicts that in this video

Brock Lesnar doesn't hate wrestling. Actually he freaking loves it, but he couldn't handle a full time schedule. He was actually more miserable in UFC because he hated the kind of insane training he had to do to prepare for each fight. Brock Lesnar just wants a quiet life.

Vince McMahon is behind Roman Reigns push and not Triple H. Vince is definitely behind Reigns' push. He runs the show, Vince doesn't make somebody "the guy" without his full backing. Maybe HHH was the one who pushed for it initially, but Vince has taken the ball and ran with it....into the ground.

"Reigns beat AJ with a single spear uggghhhh"
After throwing him around. Putting him through two tables, spearing him on the floor, the Uso's beating him up.
But you know JUST ONE SPEAR.
Every dumbass video on WhatCulture today is saying this shit.

He has but HHH has been lobbying for it and is probably just as responsible as running it into the ground. HHH lobbied for Reigns to win The Rumble, lobbied to get beaten down at the end of TLC, lobbied to main event Wrestlemania, and put Reigns into the Shield when Punk suggested Hero. Also HHH just like Vince loves over drawn babyface title Reigns even if they are kind of bland and there is a more interesting opition.see Bo Dallas (he was a white meat babyface for a couple months before the heel turn despite the venom he was recieving), Neville, and Balor

For months people were spouting "Cody is the one who wants to stick with Stardust" and that got completely disproved by the man himself. And the second part I definitely don't think is accurate. HHH is a huge NWA mark and a huge Harley Race/Ric Flair mark. He loves long reigns for heel champions, hence his own title reigns and the recent long runs of guys like Punk, Brock and Rollins.
