Final score for Applejack's Day Off is 6.5 out of 10.
Kind of a blah episode, feeling like something out of season 1 with how straightforward the plot was. The lesson of not overcomplicating your plans/chores is a decent one, and with AJ's stubborn streak it does fit; however its execution was nothing to write home about. Pacing also felt a little off, with some redundant exposition and some needless walking shots inside the spa. I typically enjoy Rarity/Applejack outings, yet even their interplay felt like the nothing special this time. The instrumental BGM was nice and I enjoyed the gag of Dash enjoying the treatments. Overall probably the most forgettable season 6 outing since Crystalling Part 1.

The story in this episode had no direction at all.

Agreeing with the 8 consensus.
Pretty fun, but nothing too spectacular.
Do love Dashie's tank slippers. Even if her G3 is showing. ^_-

Only real nitpick I have (and this is not Twilight bias)....
In the last episode, everypony went through the "how would Rarity do it?" phase when they were working on the store. Just wondering why Twilight didn't see how ridiculous the list was, streamline it and just get the pigs fed.
We'd still get the visuals of Applejack explaining the list to her when she questioned AJ about it when she and Rarity came back to the farm.
the Unworthy is as enamored with lists as she is with books - we should have seen her dancing like a chicken
Actually, I would have liked to have seen that, too

I think the story was pretty straight forward enough.
Don't see the problem there.

My only beef with this ep is it gives certain people more bloody Rarijack bullshit to shove down our throats.
Still.. It could be worse.
Yeah ¬.¬ It really could.

Looks like Andrea got the episode off for this one. Probably due to the fact of her knowledge of how things were done on the farm before...first with the "no magic" thing in that part of Winter Wrap Up, then with all the seemingly silly extras that were necessary for the Zap Apple farming. Twilight could have thought that the extra stuff was a necessity of doing things.

Twilight could have thought that the extra stuff was a necessity of doing things. That and the tasks Rarity delegated to her friends were things that she knew they could handle. Twilight normally doesn't do farm work. That and they had to convince AJ to let Twilight and Spike do some of the work.

Over the course of six seasons, The Spa Twins's accents have seemingly gone from mysteriously vague to full-on Eva Gabor.
