Sarah is getting her own show on ESPN Radio I hope that keeps her off Dan’s show lol Good god, she does not fit that show at all. Even Stugotz' hot takes are tongue-in-cheek. She comes in there all ham-fisted and it just looks like Shaq in a picture with 12 horseracing jockeys. She stands out so much. She's so normal sports talk radio and tries to be "one of the guys". You'd be hard-pressed to find someone else on the Network who fits that show less than she does.

I'm as progressive and woke as they come, but it annoys me how she comes in with all this sexually heavy humor, trying to be "one of the guys" as you just said, but then will warp to a segment on catcalling or something. She is also completely oblivious to the fact that ribbing Stugotz is supposed to be in good humor. She gets ultra defensive about Chicago and makes any comment against her sexist and...ugh, I don't wanna rant too much but she essentially can give but can't take. Her one rant against Mike for getting married at his age was so uncomfortable. She was essentially saying "you will get a divorce, loser".

Well on that she later said she was wrong and told Mike she was sorry that she said it

Sarah Spain is a tryhard. She's a lot better on HQ than the LeBatard Show, though. I guess it's because HQ is only a half hour and pre-recorded so you don't have as much chance for her to go off the rails. But she's pretty awful on ATH too.
But yeah, I don't know what's worse, when Sarah Spain is on the LeBatard Show or all the sexist trolls who come out of the woodwork when she is on.

I'm really pissed Will Cain is getting Bo's afternoon spot. I know the show will still be available and he's got bigger things to worry about once January hits, but he, Shannon and the callers (shout out to DJ Mike Hitman) made my afternoons so much fun.

Dan's show is weird in that, technically, yes, it's an ESPN show. But their home station, 790 the Ticket, is only affiliated with ESPN Radio and owned by another company. I think another station in Miami carried Mike & Mike, too, which is why Dan and co. are able to have the Local Hour at 9 AM.
It's also why ESPN is unable to cancel the show outright even if they wanted to. Worst comes to worst, while they'd lose access to a lot of ESPN's personalities as co-hosts and guests along with simulcasts on ESPNU and the ESPN App, they just become a show on 790 AM again (and simulcast via their own app).

Also the word is going around that Israel Guttierez is going to be the new permanent co-host for HQ. It's a logical move since he's already in Miami, though I find him a bit boring personally. I like a lot of the rotating co-hosts like Stugotz, Mina Kimes, Dominique Foxworth, and Katie Nolan a lot more.

He's funniest when they do the Halloween episodes for ATH

I get the feeling most of the cuts are going to be SportsCenter-related since the internet has effectively killed vanilla SportsCenter's format of "hour-long show highlights and interviews with occasional commentary."

It's crazy how quickly this evolved though. I mean 5 years ago, and to this day in fact, one of the first things I would do is turn the TV on and check Sportscenter for the highlights. Now I'm reading they might move some aspects of Sportscenter onto Snapchat.

Yeah, it's nuts how technology has dramatically changed the media landscape over the last few years.

Man, all because they wanted F1 so bad... Don't get me started of the whole F1 debacle. So far they seem to not hire the commentators that many of us US F1 fans grew to love or associate with the sport, but are just going to show the bare bones international feed of the race. Also live qualifying is nixed which on some weekends could be more entertaining than the main race itself. Not to mention they fired Jerry Punch which would have been a good addition to cover F1.

Honestly, we're used to the format enough by now that it can keep going even after it's pointless. You could argue whether it is or isn't, but I've watched full games and then wanted to see Sportscenter after. It didn't matter that I already saw the entire game, I was interested to see how it was covered and other takes on it. I mean, even before cell phones and instant attention span, most sports fans had SC on as background noise to begin with. I think the bigger problem with SC is that they've gotten away from their old format with highlights and now it's more of a talk show with a few highlights sprinkled in. And talk shows are driven by personality, and a lot of SC's guys are just whatever. Meh. That's why Baseball Tonight is better. Good breakdowns, good banter, better personalities, no real hot takes. Baseball Tonight will continue to have steady viewership, while SC will be all over the place and they'll freak out about it.
