I forgot all about this, might watch this later on tonight then. That's one of his better interviews. I still believe Jake is the best one but this is top 5

That was excellent. I was never a fan of TNA AJ. Don't know why. Knew he was good, but just never got into him. I've liked AJ a lot since he joined WWE, but between his promo tonight and this interview he is made in my eyes. Same here. I felt that Aj's and Joe's were talents were wasted in TNA, and are happy they're both routinely tearing the house down "up north"

"When you work hard... You should get paid for that." "DAAAMN RIGHT!" There you have it folks. If c***y Dixie would have paid him back in 2014, he never would have left. No wonder the mess they are in. Iirc they offered AJ another contract and he passed. It's not that he wasn't getting paid, it's that they wanted him to take a paycut to save money so other people could get paid for their hard work too.

Don't worry about it, I've read most of the backstories. What they offered was a slap in the face. AJ Styles should have been a treated like a King in TNA since the beginning. He put them on the map.

Also the one thing I did take away from the interview was that AJ is legit comfortable there, no corporate BS. Stone Cold gave him sound advice of always keep that pitbull mentality but you can see in short order WWE is looking at AJ as a go to guy.

Oh, I agree with the AJ should've been treated like a king part, but I also think they would've offered AJ what he felt he was worth if not for their financial troubles. They did the best they could. TNA has always been run like shit, but no one really had a problem with it as long as the checks were coming in.

No doubt, and it was very telling that one of the first things out of AJ's mouth when asked about the differences between WWE and other promotions was "I know who's in charge!" Everybody knows that Vince is the guy in charge, and nobody is going to try to take power from him. He's the final say. That's the reason the WWE beat WCW, they had a leader that everybody knew was the leader. And from that quick response it was obvious that TNA didn't have a leader, Dixie is supposed to be the boss, but she lets people do what they want.

TNA was rarely a place where you could really feel like you were getting the best out of guys. Their production is just so frantic and writing is so stupid that there's no way you can get a match as well paced like Cena/AJ was, there's no room for subtlety or nuance there.

Add on to the fact there is a hierarchy as he said if he can't reach one he can reach another. Whoever came in whether it be Hogan or Eric their was a revolving door of people who had say so. You can never accomplish anything with that type of system

LOL while the podcast was going on, at that wacky pro tna site, them guys were saying that AJ should apologize so that one day he gets inducted to the tna hall of fame. Yeah...something tells me that won't be happening anytime soon. Just a hunch I have.

Some say they had financial trouble but they really started to sink when they got rid of the stars. I think Spike was not interested in going further with a weak roster like they have now.

I guess it shows how good these homegrowns like AJ and Joe and Daniels, etc... were. That they would go above and beyond the crap to do something special.

Really good interview. I can't believe AJ even considered going back to TNA, thank goodness HHH called him back in time.

I liked how they got straight down to business. AJ seemed honest and looked really comfortable.

Really good interview. I can't believe AJ even considered going back to TNA, thank goodness HHH called him back in time. The most important part was he wanted to be home with his family. The second part to that is i'm sure Dixie sold him a box of goods that she had no way of delivering on but it sounded good on paper. AJ was comfortable there so there's that. Once WWE called tho that was completely out the door.

They not only mentioned TNA. The TNA logo was on screen on a WWE show. The entrance set was shown. The (old) TNA Title belt was shown. Pics of AJ vs. Angle / AJ vs. Joe were shown. It's a good thing WWE can go through (I assume) Pro Wrestling Illustrated for stuff like that. Wow. TNA was rarely a place where you could really feel like you were getting the best out of guys. Their production is just so frantic and writing is so stupid that there's no way you can get a match as well paced like Cena/AJ was, there's no room for subtlety or nuance there. I totally see your point. Although, I could mention a good bunch of Styles TNA matches that I thought were better than AJ/Cena. But overall, you're right. Those who thrived in TNA were just that damn good.

I am shocked that they acknowledged TNA to the degree that they did, but I assume it was a requirement requested on Stone Cold's part. He tends to not like beating around the bush w/his interviews.
