There are legends, there are icons, and then there is Mr. Gordie Howe. His records were broken, but the impact he had on hockey was unquestionable. More so, by every account, and absolute gentleman and ambassador for the sport. RIP Mr. Hockey.

You cannot argue with over 3 decades of on-ice service. That made him a great.
Fun fact; his "cameo" on The Simpsons was due to the fact that Johnny Unitas, who did a voice spot later, wanted money for his likeness.
He will be sorely missed.

He was playing at the NHL and made it to the all star game at 53. He is truly a sports icon period. RIP Mr. Hockey

The amount of skill and determination needed to keep that up is inhuman. R.I.P.

And this was a period where athletes careers were shorters because there wasn't the amount of surgeries and rehab practices of today to fix athletes. Plus there was no helmets and more fights and illegal hits to the head. Like what he accomplished is truly generational.

Sucks to see him gone, but you have to take solace in the fact he had an amazing career and lived a nice, full life.
R.I.P Mr Hockey

It says a lot about the man where even someone who's not really into hockey as I am even knows that the man is a legend.
RIP
