The thing is, she used to get her comeuppance all the time in the Attitude Era. I think that's because Vince was most likely a lot more hands on and was demanding that she'd look bad at some point. Something tells me that as out of touch as Vince is, he's probably a lot more concerned about Roman and his push than anything else involving the product. So chances are that's why Stephanie is booked as this invincible alpha female.

She's a mix of complete and utter misplaced arrogance and seemingly crippling insecurities.
Which results in what we have today with her, someone who is all over the show and booked to be the strongest, coolest most powerful person on the roster despite never putting anybody over or making anyone look good. I'm sure the WWE writers know if they want their stuff to make it onto TV they have to write Stephanie to look great.
She is f***ing terrible.

I for one think you are all being unfair, she has done a great job of getting HHH over ever since their Vegas wedding (can't wait to read that part of their love story) and put over Ronda Rousey at WM making her one of WWE's biggest stars.
I for one can't wait to read about how she managed to beat the odds to achieve her life long dream as a woman in such a competitive business, in must have been quite the journey.

Stephanie wanted to be a dance choreographer? Well, just give us Steph's awesome bad dancing on Raw. I don't know who worse, her or Dixie Carter. Dixie has been behind on paying production people and wrestlers multiple times, she hired Russo and tried to keep it a secret when she was specifically told not to hire him by Spike, she accidentally sent an email to the head of Destination America blasting him, her company doesn't pay for injuries that happen in their ring, she let Jeff Hardy walk out for a match completely stoned out of his mind, she's let people perform with concussions (Kurt Angle even admitted to wrestling on the UK tour with one), she tried to use a typhoon headed to Japan to promote Bound For Glory which was held in Japan, and there are the Jesse Sorensen and Daffney incidents. For the most part Steph's stupidity has been on screen, hasn't went against numerous laws of human decency, and hasn't ran the risk of destroying the company. Steph's not even close to Dixie Carter level.

Thoughts, Nastasha? She just doesn't get it. There was a clear line between Vince McMahon, CEO and Mr McMahon, evil boss. Stephanie keeps blurring that line and it doesn't work.

I don't know who worse, her or Dixie Carter. It's pretty close. Stephanie always had Vince around, and a good business model to leach off of. She never really understood the business (hence why it went in the shitter once she became part of creative) and we don't really know how she'd do if she ran everything on her own. We know Dixie is an idiot, but she never had a Vince McMahon there to set up the infrastructure for her. Stephanie compared 9/11 to her dad's steroid trial. She talked about philanthropy being the future of marketing a few hours before the company was celebrating the life of a deceased child during the HOF ceremony. She talked about the women's movement on Twitter and then got embarrassed by one of her own employees (AJ Lee) for women being treated unfairly by the company. She's Dixie Carter levels of stupid but has the filters in place to not be a cancer to the company.

Don't know why she'd be insecure, really. She's got a loving family, a steady job that's hers for as long as she wants it, is widely seen as attractive despite having the same smile that the Doom Guy does when he picks up a weapon... Is there an inferiority complex or something at play? Just trying to see this as an average fan, and I can't picture an average fan going through the channels, stopping on RAW and thinking "Ooh, I can't wait to see what the businesswoman has to say on the wrestling show tonight". And that's without getting into the whole comeuppance thing. Just another kind of mental problem some people have. They feel the need to be the focus, in control, and seen as better than everyone else at all times. If a situation comes up where this isn't the case and they just are another normal person, to them it feels like they're marginalized and seen as WORSE than everyone else rather than equal, thus the overcompensation. My mother has been like this my entire life. Thankyou so much for making this post. I was worried what people's response would be there and this was insightful and sensitive.

Guess I'm the only one who thinks she didn't come across as bad. People moan about her not getting her comeuppance but she did get speared by Roman, people are wanting some attitude era showdown where she gets put through a table but that won't happen. She isn't a wrestler so Sasha isn't going to come out and put her in the Banks Statement so what are people expecting? And I genuinely don't think she gets as much say in what she does onscreen as people seem to think. I mean she says herself if she wanted to wrestle again it isn't up to her so who's to say her not getting her comeuppance isn't a decision by Vince, especially if she feels that heels should be getting it. Honestly I'm just over the fact every little thing she says or does is analysed by armchair psychologists and that she's delusional or insecure. This is wrestling, she's playing a character. She doesn't go to the shops and slap the guy scanning her shopping and then belittle him. I think it's cool that she wanted to be a marine biologist and I look forward to her book.
