The old HHH would have pedigreed him, and proclaim himself "The Big Wang around these parts". H. Paul Levesque is impressive as the corporate top dog; and I am excited to see that he is taking Chinese athletes seriously.

Glad to see a Chinese star in WWE. I know the market for wrestling isn't big there, but just imagine if this dude catches on over there. If WWE could get their own Yao Ming or Ichiro, it'd be massive.

Wang Bin sounds like an insult for a promiscuous woman.

This guy will be an awesome heel.
I'd make him the Chinese Million Dollar Man.
If they absolutely had to leave China with a signee for PR purposes, they went with the safest option: The guy is a pro wrestler, trained in Japan.
I wonder if somebody from the Dolgorsuren clan was at the tryouts, he did mention Mongolian wrestling.
All hail Bin Wang, the Wang Khan of Shanghai!

It also really helps that he is just the right size for being a WWE main-eventer (from the company's POV, not mine). www.instagram.com/p/BGuH0uEAFKZ/He's big enough to be taken seriously but not too big where he would be pigeonholed into the monster/hoss role.

Not the first Did a little research- you're right. Kenny Li (birth name Li Fang) was in FCW from 2010-2011. I have no real idea what he's doing now. As for Bin, chances are things are looking a little more... up for him. Since he's been training out of the Inoki Dojo for a few years, he has a better chance to make it to the main roster.

Some people in the comments on that Instagram are thinking WWE signed Yao Ming.

This guy could be the most talented wrestler in the world, and you know it's over the moment his surname gets made fun of.

Wow he's really WWE's first Chinese talent?
Though I guess it's not too surprising, China's a pretty small obscure country.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out. And if WWE can resist the urge to go, "He's foreign, so he must be evil!" with him given there's more potential upside in him as a face.

I could see him getting the "Khali Treatment", where he's a heel in general parlance, but the Mandarin commentary team talks him up as a face.
