Marvel's last big event featured the FF and Doom significantly. Doom, Ben, and Torch are all still major characters while Reed and Sue get to be gods for a while. The FF book was doing poorly creatively and critically for a good while. It will eventually relaunch, but for now the characters get to do ther things outside the team and that's fine.

Yeah, Secret War was pretty FF centric. and Sue and Reed are literally in charge of reality at the moment.

Didn't it turn out 616 and the Ultimate universe was a ploy BY Doom and eventually pretty much that entire universe (sides Miles) ceased to exist because of Doom??

From what I remember the universes were tearing themselves apart and Doom saved them by merging them thanks to the mad thinker. and of course Doom made himself god-king.

Doom fused all the remaining realities into Battleworld. The only ones excempt were the ASM newspaper strip universe (which had been stored in a pocket dimension during Spider-Verse), the MCU, and the Ultimate Spidey cartoon universe.
Reed, the family and the Foundation are supposed to be rebuilding every parallel universe destroyed in the incursions (and then the incursions may not have happened because of time travel or something), so I have no idea why the Ultimate Universe has to remain gone. Miles is only where he is because of a ham burger.
616 is supposedly gone, but the Spider-Man editors apparently don't like that idea and go out of their way to mention the current universe as 616 at every oppertunity.

because the Ultimate universe got pretty terrible.
There's a reason Miles and Evil Reed are the only people that have survived.
and yeah it's officially the Prime Earth now... but Spider people keep calling it 616.

Yeah, I just hate that they're going more with the meta explanation (that it became a commercial disaster) than a genuine explanation as to why it can't be brought back. Ultimate Peter's story ended on a cliffhanger. Yeah it was a happy ending with MJ last time we saw him, but he hadn't really found out how he came back from the dead.

Miles isn't the only survivor amongst his cast. Aside from his bestie and parents, we know Bombshell is around.
We don't really know exactly who all managed to survive the destruction of the Ultimate Universe. I suspect Bendis has a bunch of reveals he's saving.
I agree that it's weird to just get rid of the Ult Universe, though. Like, they could have canceled the line, brought over Miles and friends, and left it alone. Maybe someday a writer or the company might want to go back to it.
