Really gotta love this. They think he's the most marketable person on the roster based on... absolutely nothing whatsoever indicating anything of the sort.

Meltzer also confirmed that the mics in the Reigns/Rollins match were turned down after the "we want Ambrose" chants started so yeah the mics were lowered in case people didn't wanna believe it.

I was watching on the network stream with my swanky ass headphones and let me tell you, their audio guys were working overtime during that match. The most hilarious point was when Roman and Seth had a staredown on the ground. The crowd really didn't care all that much, but they suddenly turned the crowd mics up so loud at that moment that all you heard was this horribly tinny hiss of indifference.

No, no, it is completely normal that Roman's entrance always has a huge outpouring of boos that a second later abruptly cuts out.

You could hear Roman's body deflating from that supplement he took when they locked eyes. No, no, it is completely normal that Roman's entrance always has a huge outpouring of boos that a second later abruptly cuts out. Sad that we needed an insider to report the mics were actually turned down in order for people to believe it but it is what it is.

Still amused that performance enhancers are something to actually care about in an acting profession. If it's safe and helps you recover, who the hell cares? But hey, spectre of the 80s. This isn't about steroids being used to help heal from injuries though, if they're prescribed to help recover from injuries by legitimate doctors (As in, not bought from shady online pharmacies), they're given a pass under the therapeutic use exemptions in the wellness program. This is about steroids being used without prescription to maintain a certain physique that will give them an edge over clean talent as they have that superstar look, substances where the long term effect on the user's health are either known to be detrimental or are completely unknown. Wrestling being a worked sport doesn't make these things healthier, ask Superstar Billy Graham and Dynamite Kid about the wonders these chemicals, combined with the bumps from the worked sport, did to their bodies. Hell, ask HHH. I don't think tearing your quad twice mid match is pleasant.

Really gotta love this. They think he's the most marketable person on the roster based on... absolutely nothing whatsoever indicating anything of the sort. The company believes he's the most marketable person on the roster based on their desire to put all their marketing muscle behind him, something that will happen no matter what the paying crowds say and no matter how many rising stars needs to be shoved down/turned heel to get him to that point. Cena was head and shoulders above everyone else as no-one else who could have risen to that level was really given the chance to spread their wings, they cut Christian's off entirely to make things easier for Cena on his way up and they went out of their way to keep Punk at the level occupied by Edge before him. Eventually the crowds will cave and he'll be at the level of an Orton or Sheamus, guys who get reactions but no-one really wants to pay to see, and the WWE will pat themselves on the back for that, calling it a job well done.

My half baked, 100% evidence free conspiracy theory is that WWE top brass asked Reigns to lose the Shield cosplay and start to wrestle in regular shirtless trunks/tights garb so to give him a post Shield identity that would increase his fanbase (or at least please Vince) and he panicked and gobbled something he shouldn't have for a short term fix.

I think people are being way to hard on Orton. Even if he was not the "Face of the Company" he was at a minimum the Savage to Cena's Hogan. Look at 2010 when he was the World Champ getting the top reaction in the company despite being pretty horrible at everything. His runs as World Champ shows that with enough respect from the top brass wellness strikes won't stop you from reaching the top multiple times.

Orton's more like Paul Orndorff.

I guess the only way WWE will abort the Reigns mega push is if the ratings fall off in record numbers, which could actually happen at this point lol.

He's more in the vain of Mr. Perfect, as blasphemous as that might sound - great wrestler, definite Hall of Famer, long body of great work... but when put up against the top guy (in Perfect's case Hogan) their stuff didn't actually draw for shit.

It's now the first comment, very interesting. 3 days, 21 hours ago, so Sunday early afternoon before the ppv. Funny enough people mocked him for the comment thinking it was NEWZ.

A question here though. If he failed before MITB, why not just suspend him Monday? Also, why wouldn't they have him lose to Seth Rollins on Raw instead of booking him in a triple threat for the ppv? Now they actually have to announce this on tv, when it could have just quietly went away for 30 days.

No clue.

No clue. You are correct, the 2nd post in this thread said he would miss Battleground, but his suspension ends before the ppv. But as you said, why wouldn't write him off Raw if they knew about this ahead of time? Even if he is still in the match, he won't be on Raw for the entire month building to the match. So that alone will force them to acknowledge it, coupled with the fact that even ESPN has reported it.

He would have been if they had booked him right and kept him as a silent badass. He was by far the most over guy in the Shield, and that's why I think they took a liking to him, but their inability to book a proper face wrestler destroyed his character. He would without a doubt be their most over superstar if they just didn't change his character and let him keep his shield persona.

Wow this has been news for two days and I'm just now hearing about this? Unbelievable.
This does explain the MitB ending very well, but it doesn't explain the ending of RAW at all.
Edit: I hope Wellness Policy vs. Vacant is the main event of Wrestlemania next year. These guys deserve it.
