Strangely enough, Tajiri didn't enter to any of his previous WWE themes, apparently. Well I don't think the WWE actually owned any of them. at the end of the games there was always a mention that Tajiri's theme Asiattacker was owned by someone else.

Because their priority with network content is to stagger it throughout the year and have reasons to subscribe each month. June had an NXT special, while July probably only has Battleground and like, nothing else. So, starting it in July lets them give a strong reason to subscribe, and probably takes into consideration stretching the big finale of the ten week tournament into September, which is notoriously the beginning of the post-Summerslam wheel spinning until the Rumble, and probably also a big content drought. But surely seeing the finale of the tournament can be a way to hook people into keeping their subscription up for September. Then tape the CC in July then. What are they worried about double booking with Evolve or something? Give me a break. If the air date is static and done for good reason then what does it matter when it gets taped? They had to fly guys in who by and large aren't tied to contracts and involve a significant amount of effort from people in the company who have other responsibilities. They're not taping now for some arbitrary, idiotic reason, and the bracketology special is in two weeks, so this isn't exactly taping shit they're going to be sitting on for six months.

Just past the halfway mark of these tapings, and the tourney favourite is on deck now in Sabre Jr.

Is Chris Chan one of the guest judges? Only if Chris try to pepper spray Tajiri and get green mist instead. Don't call anybody!!

Unless you work for them, what are you basing any of this on? Okay, let's say their goal is to retain subscribers. If they're afraid of people leaving this month wouldn't it be better to have the opening rounds air at the end of the month and use the subsequent rounds to entice people to stay on board. You know, the exact same thing they do with their free month gimmick. You need to catch people's attention now, and almost month old spoilers aren't going to get a whole lot of attention outside of your typical die hards, who probably would have kept it anyway. If instead they need to have it in July, for whatever reason. It's not like any of these guys would turn down a booking next month instead. This is easily the biggest thing 95% of the guys involved in this have ever been a part of. WWE is the big game in town, if a guy decides he'd rather wrestle elsewhere, it's definitely not WWE's loss. Sitting on this stuff just makes it feel dated by the time it comes out. Especially when you consider they're taping the second round the very next night. Even that Bracket thing you mentioned is airing in July. There's no reason to tape now and just let the hype fade.

It's a shame "BETTER THAN MAHABALI" doesn't fit into a normal chant rhythm, because these Sihra guys would get them for sure, for both their wrestling and their dancing.

Especially when you consider they're taping the second round the very next night. Even that Bracket thing you mentioned is airing in July. There's no reason to tape now and just let the hype fade. I'm basing this off of just spitting out guesses as to what would justify it? I don't know for certain, and I'm not claiming to, but it seems like a safer assumption to me that there's good reasons for the company to be doing this than for there to be no justification for it and for them to be giving me content posthaste or delaying the filming of that content for all of the nothing it really effects in practice. You keep stressing how it's only going to air in July but like. We're a week out from July. This isn't something that's airing in four months. It's still going to be fresh, it's still going to have hype. A lot of wrestling is pretaped and people still watch it. Weekly NXT episodes still hit the list of most watched Network things for that week if that report from a month or two ago was anything to go by, and those are taped sometimes two months in advance. Shit, a lot of media on the whole is taped well in advance, it still gets consumed. Also if the first round was aired in June then the final two weeks wouldn't bleed over into September. If I was personally trying to spread out and strategically plan content releases, the last two weeks with all the biggest matches being placed in a dire-ass month like September would definitely be sound logic to me.

Ibushi and Saber Jr just feel like "the ones" to me. I can see this whole tourney elevating them to Rollins/Ambrose FCW levels when it's all said and done.
