Whats a hack or workaround to get around this maintenance? I need to update and do not have time to wait.

Finally beat Hades, what a game. Battling monsters, champions and gods to escape the underworld was still easier than getting the seasonal items/creatures in time in Animal Crossing.

Picked up both Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. Kind of funny since I've been replaying Awakening lately.

There's a Sora Smash Bros. leak making the rounds that people are for some reason taking seriously, even though it's blatantly a Shulk mod. You can outright see the glow of the Monado here.

Can’t believe I missed this somehow.
One of my favorite gaming experiences of this year, Wattam, is coming to Switch on December 18th.
It’s from Keita Takahashi‘s studio and it’s hard to describe without it sounding like the weirdest thing ever but...it’s that and also super charming.

Did the first chapter of Fire Emblem earlier but kind of hesitant to really commit to it for now. It's actually pretty lengthy for an NES game and I've got a lot of other stuff on my plate at the moment.

Nintendo has cancelled their livestream for Splatoon 2's North American Finals tomorrow because some of the team names supported the Smash community and the FreeMelee movement.
This is WWE levels of being petty.

This is WWE levels of being petty. I don’t think I’ve seen something in recent times where there are two sides and they’re both losing. Nobody is looking good coming from this.

It's a case where Nintendo could have not done a thing and it would have been fine. It feels like Nintendo is attacking the Splatoon fanbase because they spoke up. The fact that Nintendo sabotaged their own livestream because of a trend is flat out ridiculous.

But even then, as pointed out by others when it happened, the tournament organizers don’t come out of this looking good, either. Like. all they had to do was not have the modded version of the game and we’d be having the tournament right now. And even putting that aside, you’re promoting something on a stream that attracts attention to something that annoys the company organising it. Sure, Nintendo look petty for axing it because of it but really, what did you expect was going to happen? The Blizzard banning they most certainly are not.

So what's the deal with Nintendo doing limited time releases now?

So what's the deal with Nintendo doing limited time releases now? So, we don't know if they'll continue this thing next year, but the fact that so far all these limited releases last until March 31st makes many people think they are doing these as a quick way to make some last-minute cash in their fiscal year(since March 31st is the end of their fiscal year).

I mean, we're talking about people that fell for a Grinch leak. That said, I still predict Sora will be one of the last 4.

Which is still an overreaction because, as I said, they're not making bold political statements about something going on relating to the world at large, it's about a dumb situation involving dumb streamers that people are acting like it's the end of a community. All Nintendo had to do was say "Hey, change your names or we won't live stream it" and you can find another way to speak out about the issue.

And now for a third PR/fandom snafu for Nintendo, they've sent a cease & desist to the guy who was making custom sets of Joy-Cons for massive, and sadly late, Nintendo fan Etika's fanbase, the JoyCon Boyz, presumably because these custom shells did straight up have the term "JoyCon" on them.
Edit: Nintendo's actions of late are making it starkly clear, if they are not the ones directly asking you for the money, they don't want you to. Which, yes, is within their rights as a company, it is their products and IPs after all, but outside of say Disney, there are few companies who behave this damn draconian about it.

Nintendo went from untouchable to inexcusable in a weekend. Unreal. Also I can't wait for Nintendo fanboys to defend this.
