The Story Mode feature sounds like an interesting setting. Can't really see myself ever using it personally - really if I wanted that I'd probably just turn on a Let's Play or something - but it's a cool alternative for people who just want to experience the games without having to get into some of the tedium of them.

I gradually had to develop a taste for Breath of the Wild. My first playthrough I spent like half of it pretty much hating it and had to begrudgingly push through because I didn't have any other Switch games, but eventually kind of started to gel with it. Done three more subsequently and each one I've had more of a taste for it to where by now I'm very fond of it, though I'd still probably rank it toward the lower end of the 3D Zelda games because it's kind of less my taste than the rest of them; only one I'd really confidently say I like it more than is Skyward Sword. Do think the game has a lot of issues that I hope the sequel fixes. The breakable weapon thing is fine in theory but in practice they break waaaay too often - seems like you can't get through a single fight with more than one or two enemies without something busting - and there should be some option to keep around and fix broken weapons. The dungeons are all total garbage and a more conventional approach to those would be a lot better. Rain is a constant nuisance that only exists to waste your time making you stand around to wait to be able to go places and it feels like it gets more common the longer you play the game. There are a few too many Rupee sinks and it gets tedious having to constantly do the snow bowling game to grind money. The game's difficulty isn't well balanced because at the start you're constantly in danger while by the end nothing poses any sort of threat to you. Everything about farming the dragons' parts seems deliberately designed to waste your time. Not being able to upgrade any of the DLC gear rendering it all completely useless was an extremely stupid idea. None of this really ruins the game for me, but I'd have a far greater appreciation for the sequel if it handles all that kind of stuff. I was shocked there wasn't a later game item that let you climb in the rain. Or maybe a full climbing gear bonus, or something.

I kind of started to say something about how I think Breath of the Wild is a bit of a sacred cow out of expectations and coming right when the Switch first came out despite its flaws, then I realized that that description applies waaaaaay more to Mario Odyssey. I still like Odyssey a lot - done multiple playthroughs of it - but I do think it's a pretty deeply flawed game between the platforming elements being largely nonexistent, a lot of the moons just kind of being placed around to pad the numbers without any real care for whether they're fun or even necessarily require any work, it having less a difficulty curve and more a difficulty rollercoaster, there being a lot of mechanics and sequences that are so underutilized that they're clearly only there for the trailer, and having controls that are frequently overly convoluted. I feel like in a lot of circles it kind of has the reputation of being the best 3D Mario game but I think I'd only actually put it over 3D Land and Sunshine personally and even then while Sunshine is a deeply flawed game I could probably complain about all day I think I have more fondness for it than Odyssey.

Thinking about picking up either Half-Genie Hero or Seven Sirens while they're discounted but I don't know which one to go with. Fandom opinions seem mixed and I think I'd enjoy the more linear nature of Half-Genie Hero more but the extra bells and whistles on Seven Sirens' presentation are more appealing.

Completely randomly they suddenly put out a big update for Super Mario Party that expands a lot of aspects of the online play.
... I have no idea why they'd do this after two and a half years of ignoring its existence, or why they never added more boards to it, but why not.

Probably won't at launch but I could see myself grabbing Miitopia at some point. Have it on the 3DS and I kind of fell out of playing it but was having fun with it, and the new options look to be pretty nuts.

I have no intention of picking up Miitopia at launch, but from the look of the customization options available this could be a fun game to watch other people stream and play on Twitch and Youtube.
Especially if a few of the Vtubers I follow happen to get involved.

An ESA certification was spotted for a Ni No Kuni 2: Prince’s Edition potentially coming to Switch soon.
Can’t recommend the game enough, honestly if and when that gets confirmed.

So far New Pokemon Snap feels like a good, logical extension of the first one; pretty much the same gameplay, but it's been ironed out and souped up enough that it feels modernized. Keeping track of four types of poses for each Pokemon was a very good idea, gives a lot more variability to it than just looking for the best score.
