Meanwhile, a friend of mine who saw that one Indie Direct Nintendo did a while back is wondering when Skatebird is coming out. So since I follow the developer Megan Fox (no relation to the other one) on Twitter...the best I can tell you is that it's still expected this year. But yes, very much looking forward to Skatebird too.

I'll be amazed it we could make anything more complex than a 10 minute minigame. That said it looks easier than Dreams and for $30 I'm in.

Looks neat and it's apparently launching at 30 bucks...

Looks neat and it's apparently launching at 30 bucks... It's giving me WarioWare: D.I.Y. flashbacks. That game was a load of fun to develop stuff, and it appears they intend to create things more complicated.

I went ahead and pre-ordered Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir because it seems like a niche title and I want to support it getting an overseas release. Seeing it in motion really won me over. I kind of wish Japanese text was available in the US version but that's not going to be a dealbreaker for me.

I'll probably pick up Famicom Detective Club myself, though not decided which one yet; probably get one now and one later. I'd wait on them since I've got other things going on but really I want to support shit like this.
On another note, they've announced a Plus version of Layton's Mystery Journey coming to Switch! ... Yes, again, this time they're adding the anime voice actors. ... It's very easy to see why Level-5 is having financial issues.

When it comes to Famicom Detective Club, The Missing Heir is the one that came out first and The Girl Who Stands Behind is apparently a prequel or something like that, so I just grabbed The Missing Heir first. I can’t say how much it actually matters though, you’d probably be fine just getting whichever one interests you more.

Friend on Twitter says it SEEMS like the SNES version. Is there a gameplay reason you ask or just comparing SNES sound to Genesis sound?

Looking into it it seems like the Genesis version is just kind of worse all around; the graphics and music aren't as high-quality and the controls are more awkward due to having less buttons.

Maybe it had more gore given Sega's looser restrictions. *Shrug* And yeah, controls would be tricky. Derek Alexander (formerly Happy Video Game Nerd) mentioned it being tricky to swap weapons with no shoulder buttons.

I mean if its anything like the Lion King/Aladdin collection it should offer both versions if developed by the same company (Yes I know the SNES version of Aladdin but it was developed by a different company)
