So my mind just had a melt down when I finally realized the underground is a mirror of the surface. The lightroots are all in the same spot below at the shrines are above. Where there is low elevation on the surface (think rivers/lakes) it's high elevation down below. If you go where a surface village is you'll find a big mining camp/boss below.

Can't believe I didn't notice that after just a couple hours. I feel like a blind dork. The Dark World is back baby.

So they put up this week's Switch avatars, which are actually extremely confusing because they're marked as Xenoblade 3 but entirely consist of Xenoblade 1 art and characters as well as Shulk and Fiora's 2 art. Just raises the question of if mixing and matching the elements is a thing they can do with Xenoblade why literally no other series does this.

I got it preordered and am very curious about it. Baseless speculation here but since they're friends, I get the vibe Kodaka wants to do what Uchikoshi did jumping from Zero Escape to Somnium Files with this being his chance to jump from Dangan Ronpa to a spiritual successor and I'm excited to see how that turns out.

I love that the Twitter announcement of the 1-2 Switch sequel doesn't even have an exclamation point.

Its like even Nintendo knows there's no point in pretending its an exciting reveal.

I think kind of the biggest issues I'm running into with it are 1), it's giving me World's End Club vibes and I just could not gel with that at all (granted I know that was much more Uchikoshi's baby than Kodaka's), and 2), I don't really trust Kodaka much to write a non-killing game story based on Ultra Despair Girls and 3 and the Danganronpa novels and Killer Killer and World's End Club and those anime he did. Do think it not being Danganronpa is also turning me off a bit, would pretty much trade it for another of those in a heartbeat, but I think the issue runs deeper than that since while I didn't get to it right away I never really had the same hang-ups on AITSF. Granted I also care a lot more about Danganronpa than Zero Escape in the first place.

... Though speaking of can they please port the Zero Escape games to Switch already? Incredibly glaring absence, especially since they ported them to Xbox and guarantee there's a fraction of the fanbase for them on there.

Sort of funny how putting up the original Harvest Moon's kind of for the moment wrecked my hype for the A Wonderful Life remake because I'm just like, "Can't wait for them to put up 64, I want to play 64." Even though I totally could just play it right this minute anyway, have the cartridge and have it on the Wii U.
