Half of those games will probably be on Switch 2 as well, the rumor was Metroid 4 was gonna be a Switch 2 launch title. Might be released in the spring like the original Switch was. Considering the Switch 2 is supposed to be backwards compatible, it would be very weird to release Switch and Switch 2 versions separately. They could do what they did with BOTW. That game got released on the Wii U first, then got released on Switch.

AS I said... mostly stuff for their B tier franchises.
Anything Major is likely going to be for Switch 2.
But some good stuff in there, like new 2.5 Zelda, the remakes of Dragon Quest, Mario and Luigi and of course Metroid Prime.

*After Zelda rescues Link at the end of the game* Link: Now you know why it takes me forever to rescue you. Zelda: Oh shut up I think you mean... "Well, EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE me, hero!"

It really is absolutely wild that in the span of three years Ace Attorney has gone from only the original trilogy being widely accessible and a third of the series having not been officially translated to the entire franchise except the Layton crossover being on modern consoles and every game officially translated in multiple languages.

Not super experimental stuff overall but it's not like there was nothing either. As people in the industry said, the fact Nintendo can pull off several first party titles and exclusive reveals likely off a budget of one AAA title from the big two is basically making the rest of the industry look like goobers.

DKC Returns has been kind of one of those ports I've long wanted but thought they wouldn't do on the logic of, "This niche is filled by Tropical Freeze, whatever." Makes me hopeful that we also eventually get stuff like Woolly World and Samus Returns.
That said the big ones in terms of 3DS ports for me are Kid Icarus, Link Between Worlds, and Fire Emblem Awakening. Those are probably the truest gems on the console to me.

I never thought I'd see the day when they translated AAI2. I thought they'd forgotten all about it and were content to let the fan translation stand.

Also I didn’t realize how big that Marvel vs. Capcom collection was? Just a real unexpected haul of stuff. No wonder the fighting game community is losing it right now. Hey gang, what's going-- *see news* Well. Time to corner trap people in X-Men vs Street Fighter online. And we get the Punisher?

I'll pick up Mario & Luigi, Donkey Kong and the Marvel Collection. They threw a lot out there i'll tell you that. Stray is a good game as well. May pick it up eventually on a sale.

Highlight for me was easily the new Mario Party. It looks like they learned from the mistakes of the previous games (especially Super) and corrected a lot of the issues. It's too early to say for sure, but optional motion controls, potentially better item (star) prices, several bigger and more interesting maps, and a few beloved 64 retro maps really bodes well with this game. I like Super enough and really liked the improvements made in Superstars, so if this is more of the good stuff, it could be the ultimate Mario Party game.
DK Returns in HD makes sense with Super Nintendo World expanding with the DKC area next year at Universal Studios. If I had kids and we went there, I'd have us go on the ride, explore the world, and then surprise them with the game back at the resort when we got back. They can even play it on the airplane! It's a no-brainer move to get this game polished up and ready for a new generation to play.
Not a lot else for me. EDIT: That Mio game looked cool, too. Interesting look. Mario & Luigi's art style looked kinda bleh. I do love that toyetic aesthetic of the Zelda game, though. It was a palette cleanser of how to do the cutesy look right and not make it look like weird fetish shit. Even though I'm only into 2D Metroid, it was cool to finally see Metroid Prime 4. If it's a Switch Successor launch game, that's surely the version to hold out for. They need something to showcase the horsepower of the new Switch, and even though it'll only be around a PS4/PS4 Pro, that's still a generational leap from Switch.

Seems like Pyoro's probably washed at this point. Barely posted much of anything before this Direct and all they really got right was Investigations while they were wrong about Darkest Dungeon being shown, said the Zelda game would be a remake, and said there would barely be any first party stuff when there were actually five new games announced. Plus has just been acting really defensive the past few days. So regarding Pyoro, there is now a rather compelling theory going around that their source was webpages on the Japanese Nintendo site/eShop going up early, because it has been noticed that many of the things they got wrong were games that had their listings going up being delayed. So for example, the reason they got the specifics of the Zelda game wrong is they merely knew *A* Zelda game was coming because the Zelda Switch Lite's listing went up early, but not the specific game at that time, so they took a swing that most people would have extrapolated(no one foresaw new titles this late in the system's life, so any Zelda content would be remasters/remakes). Would explain why they missed on all the first party stuff because apparently Nintendo delayed posting all of their stuff.

I'm interested in the Zelda game because I prefer 2D Zelda's and also love the visual style ALA Link's Awakening. But the thing I'm excited more about even though I'll get it on Steam is that Marvel Vs. Capcom collection.
X-MEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM MARVEL SUPER HEROES X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER MARVEL SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER MARVEL vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes THE PUNISHER
That will be a blast.

God I’d love to see Samus Returns make it to Switch. And Kid Icarus and Link Between Worlds as well. I own all 3 for the 3DS, but that screen just can’t compare to the Switch. I honestly have a hard time going back to that system now

Superstars was the one that corrected the issues with not being fully motion controlled, though. This one will probably expand on that.

Both of those had a reason for the double release tho, Twilight Princess got a Wii port to add motion controls and BotW was ported to Switch because the Switch wasn't backwards compatible with the Wii U. Assuming the Switch 2 is fully backwards compatible, and pretty much all signs are pointing that direction, what would really be gained by releasing a Switch version and a Switch 2 version of a game?

I am confused at what Lizuka said about Pyoro being wrong about them showing Darkest Dungeon, since they did show DD2, unless I am missing something there. Obviously, they missed on some of the other stuff, though.

Even still, not a good showing for Pyoro, naturally.
