I'm starting to wonder when Coca Cola will actually bring back New Coke. Sure the product failed-but so did Crystal Pepsi. Sheer nostalgia and novelty alone would be all the advertising it would need.

And New Coke was based off the Diet Coke formula, but made with high fructose corn syrup.

Am I the only person that feels like the recent wave of 90s nostalgia feels WAY more pandering and patronizing than the wave of 80s nostalgia a decade ago?

On a special website, PepsiCo on July 7 will release a video game called "The Crystal Pepsi Trail." The game is Pepsi's take on the classic computer game "The Oregon Trail." [...] References in the game include Furby, Tamagotchi, pagers and bucket hats. Marc Summers, former host of Nickelodeon's "Double Dare," makes a cameo in the game, which uses blocky, 1990s-era graphics. In-store marketing will include push-button devices that play the 1990s-era song "Whoomp! (There It Is)." Looks like they went with the "Pummel you with the 90s" marketing strategy, can't say it's a bad move. Also, this article talks about Pepsi bringing back aspartame Diet Pepsi and the hate/love it's getting online. The world of sodas is nothing to mess with.

Hopefully they bring back "Right Now" by Van Halen as part of the ad campaign. It wouldn't feel right if they used any other song.

This was a little before my time. Call me when Pepsi Blue comes pack. I have never agreed with a post as much as I agree with this one.

Am I the only person that feels like the recent wave of 90s nostalgia feels WAY more pandering and patronizing than the wave of 80s nostalgia a decade ago? Compared to the 80s nostalgia wave that's STILL going on, the 90s retro movement has been fleeting. If anything, there should be MORE 90s stuff that should have second chances to get into the spotlight again. Like Gargoyles and Swat Kats to name just two.

I mean, that's cool and all, but I'm over here still trying like hell to find a damn box of Ecto-Cooler.

I've never understood the appeal. I mean it's just Pepsi that's clear, right? It doesn't taste different or anything?
