"Above his station?" Have you gone full 1980's "cool valley kid" heel? No. I'm just saying a guy like Heath Slater who knows how to be entertaining even with a lack of push would be more Darren's speed (more so than a former WWE Champ who beat John Cena at WrestleMania). And it was more of an indictment of WWE's inability to book lower card programs. And I'm not saying that to be a "hater" because I feel the same way about guys that I like; Maybe some other talents wouldn't crash and burn so badly if WWE booked lower card programs instead of trying to shove them into uppercard programs or against guys who completely outclass them. Again, this also includes guys that I like. You can say Alex Riley, I can hear you grinding your teeth from here about how much WWE misused Alex Riley.

If I did, people (including at least two mods) would just pile on his name and derail the thread with 20 page college essays/thesises about why he sucks and I would get made out to be the bad guy for it despite the fact that SOMEONE dragged his name out of obscurity. So please let's not make this into an argument about him.

So please let's not make this into an argument about him. I'm not, but legitimately he fits your argument, he is a guy who could have benefited from lower cards being more expanded and hell even a brand split. I get what Riley's name is and I get that you are basically Mr. Alex Riley, but I wasn't being malicious when I brought him up. Hell Heath and Darren were up around the same time as Riley too.
But I do agree that "Above his station" is a dumb way to put something, but I also agree that making a good lower card can benefit guys in the long run, and I hope this brand split can do that for guys like Heath AND Darren among others.

I thought that he and Eva Marie's voiceover troll were the best things about Smackdown. He's definitely way over with what he continues to do and I like that he got to do a bit with Shane too.

He's certainly more money than fxxxing Rhyno.
I hated Rhyno ten years ago. Fast forward to now and he is the exact same thing with an elbow tattoo. Normally one evolves or changes even a little in a decade, but not this timestuck relic of the past. It's almost amazing how the same the guy is.

Heath is in the best spot in WWE what are all of you talking about.
#1 Free Agent of the WWE and can go on either show, baybeh!! They're probably gonna use (read: 'abuse') Heath whenever they want the Legends to come out and hit their Finishers for nostalgia, or when a celebrity wants to act tough by strong-styling Heath with a few stiff kicks for cheap pops

Thing with Heath is that he's just too good at getting beat up in hilarious fashion to ever move up the card. But at least he'll have a job for life. And agrees on Darren Young. WWE is so disinterested in booking feuds for the lower card guys that we have to suffer through people like Darren being pushed above their station when not many people are particularly clamoring for it (and that's not me hating on Darren because I'm including guys I like in this as well). If Darren was on the same brand as Heath, I would suggest that he feud with Heath instead of being pushed above his station. he just has a really punchable looking face

Slater is money, but he's money exactly where he is. He is a job for life type guy, and I don't mean jobbing for life. I mean getting pushed will kill him. He needs to have occasional brushes with main event status like Santino did, the occasional WTF win that gets the crowd to pop. He kills it on the mic, is entertaining in the ring, and is a huge amount of fun to watch.

Tell you what, in this "new era" I'd rather have Slater in mid-card title matches and feuds than f***ing Rhyno.

That was a hell of a promo by Slater. No reason he couldn't be in a Miz-type of role, or turn face and be like DY or Ryder. Really like that idea of him inventing a TV Title to try get on TV, similar to what I thought Ryder's Internet title would be.

Really like that idea of him inventing a TV Title to try get on TV, similar to what I thought Ryder's Internet title would be. Miz type role or HTM fits him to a letter. People can have a little respect for his ring ability because he can beat people "lower" than him but also hold his own against others and running away when it's too much. His mic skills can help him threw everything.

I just want Heath to get his own Tshirt.
HIS own shirt...not the Group of The Week they've lumped him with. I would buy the shit outta that.
But, he's a fellow West Virginian AND he just brought a ton of supplies & help to my flood ravaged hometown....I'm inherently biased.

I think it's because he was only in his early twenties then but looked like he was about 40, he was probably born looking like that and shot out of the womb to gore the midwife. p.s Heath Slater rules baaybaaay!

The prophecy is fulfilled. Wrestling is beautiful.

I really admire Heath's ability to do the absolute damn most he can to be worthwhile to the roster. He's not a WrestleMania main event guy, he's not a major title guy, but dammit no matter if he's going to be jobbing up and down the country this month (and usually is) he'll be there and put in the work and do his best.
He's a scrapper, and makes the most of what he has. Some guys with more potential and ability could sorely do with his attitude.
