I think people getting all uptight over the JOKE Joey tried to make shows what's wrong with the world today.

I think people getting all uptight over the JOKE Joey tried to make shows what's wrong with the world today. Did you miss all the posts that said Joey ignored his bosses orders to make the joke? It's not so much the joke as it is Joey doing something he's done in the past before and going into business for himself, and you burn bridges that way. He has one job, to not make a remark like that, and he couldn't follow it. I'm sure Styles is a cool dude and all, but he has a bit of an ego about him and it shows in his commentary, a lot.
So yeah, for me it's not so much the joke, but it's Joey being insubordinate, and that's what got him burned bridges more than anything.

Jim Cornette, as entertaining as he is to listen to, has absolutely no right to talk about anyone else's misdeeds. This is a guy who once told the SMW roster to start f***ing more female fans so that they'd come to the shows, among many other things.
I don't think the CHIKARA site was the appropriate forum to respond to Dawn Marie on, but I found Quack's reply to be hilariously passive-aggressive.

I always wonder why people make a big deal about IT WAS A JOKE.
Obviously people KNOW it was a joke. The fact that it was a joke was encoded in their understanding of the situation. The "it's a joke!" defense only makes sense when someone says something that's incorrectly taken literally. It doesn't make sense here.

I chipped in for CHIKARA AAW, and am happy to have gotten Chikaratopia for a year to boot. I forgot how much fun it is to go see the past shows. I'm definitely getting a lot of use out of this, and am going to start a full series watch soon.  |
