That was the best sketch of the night. Along with the Alabama player sketch.

That sketch was dumb and gross, but I enjoyed it. Made me think of classic SNL sketches like Dan Aykroyd as Julia Child gushing blood everywhere or Phil Hartman as a roided up Olympian who's arms break off when he tries to lift weights.

Episode had some ups and downs, but our boy John acclimated well. I think the Chappelle episode was better, but this one was fun.
NEXT WEEK this thread will probably have way less traffic unless Casey Affleck win's the WWE championship ten times in the next couple days. But I'll probably see some of you then!

The owl one was the only skit I didn't care for. The others were pretty damn funny. Cena's great at poking fun at himself without losing his aura.

BREAKING NEWS: Regarding concerns that the humor last night was too lowbrow, NBC has decided to go with a more sophisticated host for next season: {Spoiler}

I thought it was one of the best episodes of the season. Dyke and Fats was the low point for me.

OK without getting preachy myself as I have in this thread...in the past, how often did they do skits on one President/political figure per episode? Cause Trump showing up so much now, when they overdo it it does seem kind of preachy themselves. I just wondered what it was like in years past? I skip the cold open and WU to avoid being lectured nowadays Someone also mentioned the Prez's depicted on the show comedically....seems the only Dem. they took the mick out of was Clinton.

And the part of Aidy Bryant will be played by Melissa McCarthy. /I like both, but yeah, that reeked of what they have Melissa do. //Aidy usually is treated with more dignity, as she does "cutesy"/"girly" roles more than the foul mouth, sloppy, fatty falldown.

I skip the cold open and WU to avoid being lectured nowadays Someone also mentioned the Prez's depicted on the show comedically....seems the only Dem. they took the mick out of was Clinton. From what I've seen, in the 70s (aside from 79-80 where they had nobody to play the president), there would usually be only one, not counting update. Strangely, most of them WERENT the cold open (they didnt start doing political cold openings until Carvey's Bush). Around the 90s they would usually add more, but only during the election year, and during the pre-nominee state, it was usually to mock a wider variety of candidates. Speaking of Clinton, he and carter are the only presidents to be played by 3 seperate cast members (Phil Hartman, Michael Mckean, and Darrel Hammond all played Clinton, and Dan Aykroyd, Charles Rocket, and Dana Carvey all played Carter, though Carvey's Carter was long after he was President).

To me, the highlight was the sketch about losing money (they had better find someone else to be the guy who hosts the game show sketches though, Kenan cant stick around forever). Surprised no other wrestlers showed up to make cameos though.

I seriously wonder of the writers have anything else to go to other than the election fallout. Because the writing other than their political stuff just seems really lazy.
