I am really getting tired of Trump jokes already and he hasn't even taken office yet. Back during the 90's I really don't remember them doing that many President jokes The writers have gotten much worse since the 1990's. They have very few good sketches that don't feature politics these days.

I missed the first performance but really liked this last one. His last album "Coloring Book" was very good if you've never listened to it.

Solid episode. Though it's tough not to compare Casey to his brother, SNL Five Timer (and one of my fave actors ever) Ben. But there weren't any real duds tonight for me. The younger Affleck did good. And Chance The Rapper was great.
SEE Y'ALL NEXT YEAR for Felicity Jones and stuff.

Well, so far this season, the best episode was Dave Chappelle's and the worst is a toss up between last week and Emily Blunt's episode. More misses than hits so far unfortunately, the opposite of last season in my opinion.

More misses than hits so far unfortunately, the opposite of last season in my opinion. I had hugely high hopes for this season because they've been gaining a lot of momentum in the two seasons prior. But man, they've been pretty average to below-average. The Chappelle show was the one real shining light of the season that was pretty much good from start to finish. I missed this week, but I just caught up on last week. Not very good. The tree and rich game show skits were good though. The biggest thing for me has been that Weekend Update has been HORRIBLE this year. Colin and Michael have had great chemistry in the past, and Che's delivery is killer. I just watched his Netflix special and this is confirmed even more. But instead of playing off that, they're turning it into a Daily Show ripoff. It's like they're saying "Ok, we got 4 minutes for jokes. We've already written 3:15 worth of Trump jokes, so you guys just go crazy with the last 45 seconds. But if you can think of some more Trump jokes....." I hate it because that used to be a major strong point for them between those two guys and whoever they threw in there at the end (which was usually good also.)

I got a good laugh out of, "Yeah, I f***ing love Dunkin' Donuts." Just came out of nowhere.

And WU has been annoying for this very reason, since Seth left. As I keep saying I am apolitical but I can see when things are too unbalanced and thus, well, kinda petty. Like the show has a personal grudge. Remember how people made fun of "Murica, f*** yeah" movies and such? This is the opposite. And there's still good stuff when it's non political. That's the shame. Now I know satire has always been around, but at the same time, wasn't TV invented as escapism? Well the scripted stuff at least.

If they've got Alec Baldwin for the rest of the season, they should at least put him in some more sketches besides the Trump sketches, 30 Rock shows he can be a good comic actor, and the show could benefit from his presence.

Maybe a spoof on, I dunno, MATCH GAME? (then again it would be an ad for one of the other networks...)

So excited for Aziz to host!
I'm really hoping we get Donald Glover as host and musical guest before the end of the season.

I'd love it if they billed that show as Donald Glover as host and Childish Gambino as musical guest. Just to see how many people thy can trick into thinking they're different people.

The classic 10 PM episode is of Carrie Fisher from the 70s.
