This is terrible news, he was one of my favorite people on ESPN. I always enjoyed him on ABC's studio coverage of college football. It's amazing that he was with ESPN for 30 years. I feel bad for Hannah Storm having to once again announce the passing of one of her colleagues live on air. I cannot imagine having to do that.

I'm sad this is barely getting any talk around here. John Saunders was a big deal in ESPN.

I'd know him more from ABC. Definitely somebody who looked at all sides of a story before giving an opinion. Heard he was a really good guy as well.
RIP and thoughts to his family and friends.

Saunders was a great voice and an even great human being. His enthusiasm and class were absolutely needed at espn/ABC, especially now since every sports network seems to be in the Wiseass Era. His game day prep will absolutely be missed.

Saunders was great and will be missed. Based on his colleagues, he seemed like an amazing father and friend as well.

Just seeing this, what the f***? It's going to be so weird not hearing him anymore.
Rest in Peace Mr Saunders.

He was the best sportscaster on ESPN. Possibly the best they ever had. It was always a joy turning on the TV to see him and I will miss hearing his voice immensely.

He was a Toronto boy and the original Raptors announcer. As somebody who works in sports media here, I can tell you it's been a tough day in the industry.

I liked hearing him cover college football. Going to be weird not seeing or hearing him during the season. Also, I didn't know he was a founding member of the Jimmy V Foundation. Bless him for his work and part in that cause.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family. Especially his wife, she was the one that found him unresponsive. Can't even imagine what she must be going through right now.
R.I.P.
