That's right, it's Monday again and that means ONLY one thing... Time for another episode of Monday Night RAW, live this week from Corpus Christi, TX. Can this notoriously quiet crowd make some damn noise on the go-home RAW for SummerSlam? If last week was any indication, it might be unlikely, but the only way is up from here for the RAW superstars and the decibel meter.
Scheduled for tonight is an appearance by Brock Lesnar, last seen being escorted out of SmackDown after hitting his SummerSlam opponent Randy Orton with a massive F5. With an uneasy truce in place between General Managers, it appears that Lesnar will be appearing unthreatened... But as proven a couple of weeks ago, Suplex City can become Viperville in the blink of an eye. What will Lesnar and Paul Heyman have on their minds mere days away from their bout in Brooklyn?
Seth Rollins is six nights away from a chance at being the very first WWE Universal Champion in a bout against Finn Balor, but he'll be trying to draw out the Irishman tonight. The Architect is claiming that he will summon and deconstruct Balor's "Demon King" persona as little more than mere bodypaint and streamers, but is he treading into dangerous grounds by attempting to do so?
United States Champion Rusev just couldn't take a trick last week. He and his wife Lana were merely trying to celebrate their love with the world, and they would have gotten away with it if it weren't for that meddling Roman Reigns, trying to get under Rusev's skin to coax him into a US Championship match... One that ended up being awarded only after Lana ended up landing in the wedding cake. The jilted couple will be looking for revenge on The Big Dog tonight, and the upper hand going into SummerSlam would be nice too.
Speaking of the upper hand, the #1 Contenders for the W... W... E... World... Tag... Team... Championships held by The New Day seemingly have that right now. Licensed medical professionals Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson afflicted Big E with a serious case of ringpostitis a couple of weeks ago, and nearly gave it to Kofi Kingston as well, if not for Xavier Woods making the save. With their numbers down by one third for the time being and their record reign in danger as it approaches one full year, Kingston and Woods may need to tap in to the Power Of Positivity more than ever to get out of this pickle still with the belts, and it needs to start tonight.
Finally, it's close to the metaphorical gut check time for Charlotte. She's got to try and get back the WWE Women's Championship from Sasha Banks all on her own at SummerSlam, with no daddy or protege to help her out this time. However, she's a Flair, and dirty tricks run in the blood. Has she got one more ace up the sleeve to get one up on The Boss before Sunday?
All that, and Cesaro and Sheamus go around ONE MORE TIME WITH FEELING (probably), TONIGHT on RAW!
