My favorite part about the whole ordeal is how they were apparently going round giving it large about it being some kind of fighting pits anything goes gladiator shit.
Then they found out that Steve Blackman had been training for months and was apparently just going to leather everyone in the knees so they had to change the rules because they didn't want anyone getting injured.

Didn't NJPW also try some MMA type deal that wrecked a good portion of their roster back in the 2000s ?

I dunno, 20 years later we still talk about it. It was something new, different and while it failed, didn't go according to plan by any stretch it's something memorable. It has some value there.

One of my favorite observations about the Brawl for All came from a BfA retrospective episode of the Attitude Era podcast. I want to say Billy said something about how he thought a "shoot tournament" would be a shoot promo tournament. Like rap battles. To which Kefin replied that while that sounds better than what we got, you know someone would take it too far and say something like "oh yeah? Well, I had sex with your wife!"

I dunno, 20 years later we still talk about it. People still talk about the Gobblede Gooker decades after it debuted. Just because it was different from everything else doesn't make it a complete cop out in the same way Brawl for All ended up injuring most of the WWF's midcard at the time and the person who won a shoot competition ended up getting zero build for because the people on top were annoyed that he won A SHOOT COMPETITION.

Really liked this. Which other WwW episodes are must-sees?
Also, the Bruce Prichard podcast "Something to Wrestle with" will be covering the Brawl For All tomorrow and I'm super excited. The fact that last week's episode somehow dug up a bunch of new interesting information about the Montreal Screwjob (which I thought we'd all known everything about at this point) shows just how much Prichard's perspective has to offer. Coupled with his stellar storytelling abilities (he's a surprisingly great impressionist) I look forward to learning a lot about the Brawl For All when it goes live tomorrow.

Heroes Of Wrestling with Adam Blampied is good fun. He manages to not just completely retread the same old material on it. His video about the Reign Of Terror is good also, and his Top 8 lists are all good fun.

His reviews of "The Jesse Ventura Story" & Exposed: Pro Wrestling's Greatest Secrets are both good. Also, his review of The F*&%ing Invasion(the actual title) was also really good.

Inoki has a huge fetish for MMA and started booking NJPW wrestler who weren't train in MMA like Liger in legit MMA fight. This also led to Inoki putting the IWGP heavyweight Title on Bob Sapp too.
