www.si.com/tech-media/2016/09/06/media-circus-troy-aikman-skip-bayless-fox-sports-1Considering Skip started the whole 'Troy is gay' rumor in the early 90s back when that REALLY could have had a negative impact on one's life and career, especially given the whole it not being true thing, it's hard to blame him there. Plus, all Skip really brings to the table is his ludicrous hot takes that are just trolling given air time.

he's just saying what we are all thinking.
Thanks Troy. I mock you and Joe for drooling all over the Packers and Cowboys, but you earned a lot of respect for calling out that piece of shit troll.

He's not wrong. Skip Bayless is making a ton of money to just be a troll.

About 100,000 viewers for his new show which is a horrendous rating.

I was so hopeful with the rebrand that Fox Sports would be something different, instead of just being ESPN Junior. They are the TNA of sports TV channels.

You know, I'm not an Aikman or Cowboys fan, but I can forgive Troy for a bit of being, well, a homer. He played for them, so at some point some lingering loyalty of "those are my guys, that's my team" can be accepted. In a way it's the antithesis of the "free agent, all about me" mentality we see now. Annoying? Sure it is, but at least there's some underlying justification there, on some level. Also, screw Skip Bayless, seriously.

Honestly, I don't think Aikman is that big a homer for Cowboys games. I loathe the Cowboys and thus hated Aikman as a player, but I think he's great as an analyst. He makes Joe Buck almost tolerable and he's always a good interview on sports shows.
Slamming Skip Bayless like that without flying the corporate flag makes me like him even more.

In a book in the 90s, Skip heavily implied Troy was gay/spent time at gay bars etc
Really odd thing is Switzer actually gave Skip some of the "information" apparently, or at least implied it. That may explain part of why Troy could not stand Switzer either; even while winning that third Superbowl

He basically left ESPN to do the exact same show with Shannon Sharpe instead?

He basically left ESPN to do the exact same show with Shannon Sharpe instead? Yep, Fox essentially gave Skip Bayless like 5+ million dollars to recreate First Take on their network. In a book in the 90s, Skip heavily implied Troy was gay/spent time at gay bars etc Really odd thing is Switzer actually gave Skip some of the "information" apparently, or at least implied it. That may explain part of why Troy could not stand Switzer either; even while winning that third Superbowl Skip "TMZ'd" it in the sense that he never outright stated it but printed the rumors and used that as deniability. Still a messed up thing to do.

Right, I should've elaborated and made that more clear. Even his sources were 'people in Switzer's camp'

He basically left ESPN to do the exact same show with Shannon Sharpe instead? I could be wrong about this, but I think I heard the lead dude at Fox Sports is the same producer who came up with the whole "embrace debate" programming at ESPN. If you want to have a chuckle go to Skip's Twitter, and not for the usual reasons--he's tweeted out several times links instructing people how to find his channel and show, apparently people are having problems with that. Also, The Ringer has been a really disappointing site to me with their short quick takes, but I thought they gave an interesting read on the Bayless/Aikman stuff. theringer.com/what-skip-bayless-really-wrote-about-troy-aikman-8aade8f5a612#.wwx06hep4
