I know it's not as popular as the Olympics but surprised no one is talking about the games. China is way out in first place in the medal table and GB are second by quite a distance too. There were a few cock-ups at the opening ceremony but the runner dropping the torch and falling over, only to pick herself and the torch up and carry on to a standing ovation was so emotional.

The other notable thing from these games so far is just how well Ukraine is keeping up in swimming. I'm not all that familiar with the Paralympics but, are Ukraine usually this good in swimming?

Been watching it. Superb from Team GB so far. Second in the medals tables. Amazing performances. Attendances haven't been too bad. I was expecting worse, but it seems to be building momentum.

Yeah. They were fourth on the overall medal table at London 2012 and more than half their golds came from swimming.

Over the last few months, I've pretty much watched nothing else but the Olympics and Paralympics.

I've been loving The Last Leg during the Paralympics, it's a good show when it's during the "usual" shows (even if it was originally commissioned especially for the Paralympics) but the last couple of weeks have been spectacular. But I have one minor bugbear with it (and in the media in general). They kept referring to Sarah Storey as Britian's Most Successful Paralympian when she isn't. Mike Kenny won sixteen golds and two silvers during the 70s and 80s but he's almost been deleted from history. I'm not taking anything away from Storey as her record isn't exactly poor with fourteen golds. But Kenny wasn't even part of the 2012 Games and it's a real shame that he's being ignored.
