Gulla Culture lives on now a battle of Bettles (19)Big Bad Bettleborgs, as a short-lived television series from Saban that featured three kids; Roland, Drew, and Jo. When they freed the humorous phantom ('Phasm') Flabber from the pipe organ he was trapped in, he thankfully agreed to grant them one wish, and they all wished to become their favorite comic-books heroes, the Beetleborgs, after accidentally being turned into rats. However, the kids found their wish had its consequences as the evil Magnavores from the comics were also unleashed. With its younger protagonists and greater leanings toward comedy, the show seemed intended to mainly appeal to younger children than Saban's normal audience for the Power Rangers series. However, the absurdity of the show seemed to appeal to all audiences and because of it, the series rivaled Power Rangers in ratings. (78)Beetlejuice Premiered: September 9, 1989 Last Aired: December 6, 1991Based on the Tim Burton fim Beetlejuice (1988), this series borrowed several characters and concepts from the movie but took great liberties with them (as was necessary to create a program suitable for children). Beetlejuice is a ghost from "The Neitherworld," the land of the dead - he's a trickster and a swindler, but underneath it all he has a big heart. His best friend Lydia is a very kind-hearted twelve-year-old living girl into goth

Beetlejuice was really a surprisingly good show. It definitely beat the average for movies made into cartoons, and it gets my vote.

ok. Nice sweep. (20)Dinosaurs Premiered: April 26, 1991 Last Aired: July 20, 1994The shows premise mixed elements of The Flintstones and The Simpsons, focusing on a blue-collar family of dinosaurs. Earl, the father, worked for the Wesayso Corporation and leveled trees to make way for tract homes. His blustery qualities were balanced out by his even-tempered wife Fran. The Dino clan had three children: rebellious teen Robbie, shopaholic preteen Charlene, and Baby, a smart-alecky infant. Rounding out the family was Grandma Ethyl, who always seemed to be locked in a battle of wills with Earl. Other characters included B. P. Richfield, Earl's fearsome boss, and Roy Hess, a prehistoric swinger buddy of Earl's.Dinosaurs depicted dinosaur life as being very close to human life: they watched television, shopped at supermarkets, and held down nine-to-five jobs. This allowed the show to tackle relevant social concerns in their stories. For instance, in Steroids To Heaven Robbie tried to overcome feelings of inadequacy by building up his body with an artificial growth hormone called ‘thornoids.' You didn't expect a very special episode of Dinosaurs, now did you? (77)Arthur Premiered: September 2, 1996Arthur Read, the spectacular bespectacled aardvark stars in this children's series about growing up. Typical childhood problems such as bratty siblings, schoolyard bullies and classroom cliques are addressed by this popular program.Developed from Marc Brown's beloved books, Arthur reminds us all of how it feels to be 8 years old. Just like your average kid, Arthur overcomes the dreaded obstacles of third-grade life, such as his tough teacher Mr. Ratburn, bullies, and mountains of homework. At home, Arthur must face the pint-sized terror also known as his sister Dora Winifred, or D.W. for short.

Dinosaurs win (21)Degrassi Junior High Premiered: January 18, 1987 Last Aired: January 1, 1989"Degrassi Junior High" was set in Toronto, Canada and focused on the lives of teenage students. The charcters were realisitc and delt with real life issues auch as sex, drugs, dating, pregancy, rock and roll, and much more. The actors looked like real people, not models, and they were good at acting. This added to how realistic Degrassi JH was. Degrassi Junior High ran for three seasons and after the students graduated from junior high school, the show became Degrassi High, (76)Freakazoid Premiered: September 9, 1995 Last Aired: June 1, 1997Dexter Douglas is a mild-mannered teenager who, while logged onto the Internet one Christmas, is thrust into a horrible crash on the information superhighway and transformed into an electrifying superhero. He's average, predictable, the middle of the bell curve and the center of the silent majority, which most consider completely dull and boring; the type of person who just blends into the crowd. However, all this changes when he turns into the Freakazoid, a lightening haired superhero who wears red underwear who uses his new abilities to fight evil and do battle with villains such as the Lobe. That is, unless Cosgrove, his best friend and chief of police, can suggest something better to do. With his many trusted sidekicks, his fabulous Freakalair and his girlfriend Steph by his side, he’s ready to save the day; that is, unless there’s something better on TV.
