Here are the facts for CWC (SPOILERS AHEAD): - Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano VS Cedric Alexander & Noam Dar was Dar’s 2nd week in a row in the CWC, Gargano’s 1st CWC since August 24, Alexander & Ciampa’s 1st CWC since August 3, & the 1st Tag Team Match in the CWC Cedric was on the CWC on the 10th when he faced Kota. Thanks. I looked at my records wrong and missed him.

- TJ Perkins becomes only the 3rd person to be TNA X-Division & WWE Cruiserweight Champion after Jerry Lynn & Sean Waltman Equal fact there- not only that, but TJ Perkins also becomes the first ever person to win the TNA X-Division Championship, THEN go on to be WWE Cruiserweight/Light Heavyweight Champion. He's also one of only two people (with AJ Styles) to go from winning the X-Division Title to winning a WWE main roster championship (Samoa Joe won the NXT title, not a main roster belt- and Low-Ki/Senshi won NXT Season 2 but not "a title".) Nice facts. If you want to be technical and not count Lynn since he was not Cruiserweight Champion, then Perkins is still the 3rd to hold the X-Division & WWE Cruiserweight Titles, since Kid Kash also held both titles, along with Sean Waltman.

The only thing that bugs me is that they couldn't help themselves from acting like Perkins had an underdog narrative going the whole time, and he just didn't. The story works with that final four, but it's irritating they pretended he had these big shocking upset wins over Gargano and Swann. Swann, no, but I can see why Gargano could be seen as an "upset"; he's a Regular Midcard NXT guy plus the guy who was the John Cena (or Roman Reigns, pick one) of EVOLVE/DGUSA for years. I was watching the tag match again and noticed Noam Dar slaps his thighs even when he takes strikes as well. I hope the children aren't watching because this thigh slapping is clearly out of control. Have you seen Noam Dar's thighs? Who wouldn't want to slap them?

Hopefully they have been watching Nitro and taking notes on how to properly book a Cruiserweight division. Just as long as that doesn't mean bringing in some lame jamook whose mask has a built-in flat cap and sunglasses... Did you really just dis my 8th-favorite WCW luchador?

I love the plate on the belt, however the belt looks like purple plastic and it's horrible.

Glad I watched on my own because as I expected the people shitting on Sabre are still unbearable to me in the thread Great night, loved everything about it. Shocked both ZSJ and Kota got knocked out but I loved Metalik and TJP so it didn't matter to me, a shame people are meh on Metalik too, I think he's better than the Lucha Guys WWE has right now, makes stuff look so smooth. TJP winning made sense though, and hopefully we can see these guys do some good shit on RAW But Smackdown deserves a Cruiserweight Division too, why can't they get a belt and get Aichner, Ali, Maluta, Dorado, Johnson, Da Mack, Davari, Gulak, they already have Kalisto, and Nese? That seems pretty doable to me. Hell get Lee too, he wasn't bad, liked his strikes. Hoho also exists. But great stuff, really loved this tourney despite some checking out on it, will love to see who they bring in the next time they do it, but now all eyes turn to RAW and how they will inevitably F*** this up eh?

I finally got around to watching it. I can honestly say that out of the four, Perkins was the correct choice to win because you can actually do something with him going forward. That said though, the entire tournament was poorly booked. Cedric Alexander, Brian Kendrick, Johnny Gargano, Akira Tozawa, Rich Swann all VASTLY outshined Gran Metalik. I don't know who in their right mind thought he deserved to be a finalist but that person is an idiot.
I'd have been much more invested in a final of Kendrick vs. Perkins for example. Kendrick's story coming to an end in the very last match of the tournament would be brilliant storytelling because by the time he got all the way to the finals, you'd have the audience hanging on this idea that he could actually win, and then when he loses you get even more emotion than already before.

I love the plate on the belt, however the belt looks like purple plastic and it's horrible. I agree, it SHOULD be another plain W belt only with a purple strap. [/Vince] Or whoever makes these dumbass belt calls. Ever since they went to the spinner belts, almost all of their belt designs have been noticeably bad. I finally got around to watching it. They had a lot of really good stuff going for them. Their talent pool was great. Their matches were pretty well scripted. Their announce team was perfect. Their storytelling was very good. Their pacing, while hurried at times, was good for cruiserweights. But the booking seems like it was just a flipped coin before the match. Like, even though I disliked TJP winning, why not have him beat Ibushi in the final? That was the real rub.
