Woke up in the middle of the night - thanks insomnia - and happened to wonder "hmm, my local comic store isn't doing some special curbside pickup thing like other comic stores are apparently doing during this health crisis, are they?" Not only are they, but they actually opened late last night (8-12) to accomodate subscription list customers to come in and get their comics early. Apparently Diamond has allowed it this week, and perhaps more weeks beyond this? ........so yeah, was kinda bummed I couldn't get my comics early because I never check my Facebook which is where they announced this. But, shockingly, that washed away pretty quick and now I barely care enough to go get them later on today.. www.marvel.com/articles/comics/introducing-the-new-new-warriorsThe NEW New Warriors... this... sounds really "HOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS!?" Screentime. B-Negative Snowflake. Trailblazer SAFESPACEcripes... reading all the character descriptions... my biggest question after all of this is ... "Who is this for?" B-Negative has references to the 90's and 00's (and has the PLASMA leech hands from Spider-man Animated as a reference to that) the rest seem like they're meant to appeal to kids... but... like it's all this confusing mess maybe this will work better in the actual comic but... it does not look good at this point... edit: Also "INTERNET GAS?" the f***... how does that make any kind of sense. Written by Daniel Kibblesmith. He's a comedy writer. Or "comedy" writer. That probably explains it. I would imagine there's some level of satire in this. Whether or not it’s good satire, is anyone’s guess. Reeks of yikes to me.

I’m using some of my free time before I have to get back to work to read stuff I got on sales from Comixology.
To put a short summary out of stuff, Mister Miracle is as good as people say it is, 52 is ambition that I’m sure would be hard to replicate again and nailed some of the bigger arcs it had at the time and I’m almost finished Omega Man and...jeez.

Yeah, the internet reaction hasn't been great. Like, not even from the trolls or anything, like actual LGBTQ+ fans are cringing hard. Yikes

Like, it still blows my mind that Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Mark Waid and Greg Rucka did a book together never mind one that lasted a year. The equivalent now would be, what, Snyder, Hickman, Bendis and Fraction?

That New Warriors thing can't have gone how they hoped. Who's it even aimed at? The "Arggle Barrgle SJW ruin comics" idiots would hate the idea regardless, yet it seems like the type of stupid shit they'd come up with as a parody so any demographic that would want diversity is also like "the f***?"

I imagine that they’ll be hastily renaming the characters due to the backlash they’re getting.

Yeah, you'd have thought an editor would have been like: "wait.."
Cuz legit if you'd have told me that a Gater had put this put on his kickstarter I'd have completely thought that was the case.

DC Comics really dropped the ball with Azrael during the 90s. They took a character with a lot of potential and reduced him to "Agent of the Bat".

New solicitation days kinda make me sad because of the upcoming comics that don’t feature characters I like because they’re obscure or no writer wants to tackle them.

Just over here waiting for the next character to be added to the team; he gets super mad and shrink down to ant size. His name is Micro-Aggression. Everyone's gonna love him. Seriously though this team is so poorly thought out I'm surprised none of them are in a wheel chair and they just call it a reboot of the Burger King Kid's Club.

Your words remind me of how I used to feel back when I used to scour the news sites for new solicits this time of the month....... *sigh*
